he obviously loves his son, but I guess he was so focused on traditions and so caught up in being tall, (And maybe overlooked and maybe was protective of his only son) that he failed to see how far Mao's come

that was a very heartwarming scene from my new Favorite Mao Mao episode
Shin Mao was both hilarious and awesome and I love the character growth he had in that episode he starts off passive aggressive and hard to impress but later Mao Mao finally impresses his father and Shin Mao realizes a great lesson and they reconcile at the end which is heartwarming I hope they do an episode where we see Mao Mao's mom and Mao Mao's sisters

I agree and we need another episode with Shin Mao and we also need Tanya Keys to become a more major character in Mao Mao she's cute and I love her personality
