Draghi thinks himself the dominant one of the group, as such, he thinks it obvious he shouold get the "lion's share" of the food. However, as the dominant figure, he thinks himself responsable for the group. He is painfully aware that Jon is the one that provides the food. He might be small and weak and inadequate, but he must be an unparalleled hunter. Afterall, Not even Draghi can see him hunting... he only sees the end result of these "hunts". He has also never seen this "treat" animal in the wild. But Jon obviously does.

SO, on learning this was the last piece they had, he had to decide between his own hunger ( which wasn't that great because he was fed normally over the outing ) and between keeping the hunter that provides the food healthy and in hunting order. With no small consideration, Draghi decides that it would be best, for the group, if the one that provides the food is the one that gets fed. Thus the sacrifice seen here.

He does not know that Jon cant' eat this sort of food pelet. Being condensed matter, specially designed for an animal Draghi's size, were Jon to ingest it, it woudl result in very painfull intestinal ruptures from the rapidly expanding material. And evenb were that not to be the case, the food matter itself would be quite poisnnous to Jon.
