Description

At the start of the year I modelled this Brain robot for some practice. I used the amazing concept art by Darren Bartley as reference (view Here) . At the time I was quite busy and never got to take the model to completion. Finally after a long wait, 7 or so months, I decided to complete the model and this is the final result.

I used Maya for modelling and editing, Zbrush for sculpting the brain, Mudbox for painting the textures and Mentalray for rendering. In the end I had 8x8k texture maps and the renders took a night to render.

I used After Effects to do the post work as it has a non-destructive workflow. I also used magic bullet looks to colour grade the image.
