Alex Evans grinned at his daughter, Sarah Evans, as her class took a field trip to the famed Empire State Building. Alex had signed up to be a parent chaperone for the excursion, and the children had been well-behaved for the day, which pleased Sarah's teacher. It had been weeks since the encounter with the evil-doer Swarm, and Kayla had luckily been contacted and interviewed by a modelling company in the city, securing a position there as a photographer and part-time model. Rush hour raged on, and car horns blared through the thick, downtown air, where traffic came to a snail's crawl. The bus driver led the bus down the street slowly trekking down a small, elevated bridge, accompanied by the quiet chatter of the school children.

"Mrs. Clarkson, the traffic is pretty bad, you might want to inform the parents we'll be arriving at the school way later than expected..." The bus driver advised, as the brunette teacher whipped out her phone and began typing on their class information page.

Angry drivers yelled profanities out their windows, as Alex made sure to shut the open windows. Suddenly, a car decided to cut the bus off, causing the large vehicle to swerve off the bridge and tumbled towards the ground. The children screamed and they stopped falling mid-air and they gently arrived on the ground. The doors opened suddenly, and a familiar redhead appeared, as Alex's eyes widened in shock.

"Is everyone alright?" Mindy Marvel smiled sweetly, giving Alex's hand a quick squeeze.

The bus erupted with a cheer and the redhead beauty nodded, giving Sarah a small wink, as she sat with her mouth wide open. Mindy exited the bus, as the EMTs surrounded the scene, and Mrs. Clarkson met the medical personnel. Alex wandered the streets for a while before giving the redheaded powerhouse a tight hug, without saying a word. She accepted and he gave her a gentle, affectionate headbutt, as he returned to his relaxed state.

"How long do I have to hug you?"

"As long as you need sweetie." Mindy whispered back, as Alex pulled her in tighter, with small tears running down his cheeks.

Another few quiet moments passed, as Alex slowly let go of her toned frame, and the heroine wiped his face, squeezing his hand once more before taking off into the sky.

Melinda smiled, as Kayla, Alex and Sarah arrived at their apartment, with the redhead leaning up against the building. The blonde dynamo grinned and jogged to her mentor, as the redhead absorbed her affection.

"Thank you Mom..." Kayla exclaimed, muffled into the lawyer's chest.

"No worries sweetie, anytime." Melinda smiled, wiping Kayla's happy tears.

"How did you..."

"I was just planning on visiting my bee after some Foundation things when everything happened. I'm glad I was there to help out."

Kayla let go of the redhead, as Alex wrapped himself around Melinda, causing her to break out a small smile.

"Thanks...sorry, I don't really know what to say..."

"You don't need to say anything darling." She replied, giving his hand another soft squeeze.

"We got some flowers for you!" Sarah exclaimed happily, holding a bouquet of roses.

"Wow! These are gorgeous... you didn't-"

"Yes, we did." Alex smiled, as Kayla planted a kiss on his cheek.

"Can you stay for supper please?" Sarah asked, as Mindy scooped her up into her muscled arms.

"As long as Mommy and Daddy are okay with it..." She smiled, looking at Kayla and Alex.

"Of course!"

"Yay!"

The four of them wandered into the apartment, and Sarah gave the redhead a tight hug.

"So... I'm a part time model now..." Kayla started from the living room couch, causing Melinda's eyebrow to raise slightly, as Sarah and Alex were preparing dinner in the kitchen.

"Oh, really?"

"Uh, yeah...hehe. A modeling company hired me to take some photos of their models!"

"You know, that means you can't show off too much..." Melinda replied with a soft chuckle.

"I promise that I won't."

"I trust you sweetie." She said, giving the blonde an affectionate squeeze.

"Your arms look bigger by the way." Kayla smiled sweetly, giving the redhead's bicep a squeeze.

"I'm doing your regiment." Melinda winked.

"Pfft, you're gorgeous." Kayla replied.

"Thanks Bee." She smiled, as Kayla snuggled up to her toned shoulder.

"But seriously, thanks for the bus save today." Kayla exclaimed quietly.

"You're welcome.. you have a bunch of super ladies in your corner, don't forget that." Melinda grinned, playing with Kayla's blonde locks.

"I know, I know...ugh, that feels good..."

"Good. I heard what happened with Swarm..."

"How-"

"Isla was talking about it, and I'm super proud of all of you. You guys flexed your muscles very well." Mindy smiled, flexing one of her arms.

"Thanks Mom." Kayla winked, copying her.

After another moment of the ladies bonding on the couch, Sarah walked out with a plate of spaghetti and meatballs, giving it to the redhead.

"Here you go. Daddy hopes you like it." Sarah smiled.

"Thank you sweetie, it smells amazing!"

"Alex has learned quite a bit since he started culinary school." Kayla smiled proudly at her love, as he stood in the kitchen.

"This is really good Alex." Melinda smiled, as Alex brought two plates out for his ladies.

"Thanks babe." Kayla added, giving him a kiss on the mouth.

"Eww, they're kissing..."

The redhead giggled, wiped the child's face and the three of them enjoyed each other's laughter.

"By the way...I used one of your drones to take a few pictures of myself..." Melinda smiled, causing Kayla's eyeborw to raise.
