A former supermodel turned New York City tour guide, Emily Sanders knows all of the hottest spots to visit in the city. After graduating high school in Calgary Alberta, Canada, Emily moved to New York City, where she began her modelling career. Her charisma made her a quick fan-favorite on the modelling scene, but was mistreated by her bosses for years, and due to this, spiraled into a depression where she gained a considerable amount of weight, and was fired. After weeks of deliberation, Emily enrolled into therapy sessions to help dig herself out of the emotional hole she created. She then joined group counselling sessions to help her improve her relationship with food, where she met Nick Stevenson. The two of them developed a close bond, where they melted off their unwanted weight fairly quickly with heavy workouts and strong support. Shortly after, Nick disappeared, and Emily looked for him with no luck. She enrolled in hospitality school at New York University, where she met Kayla Evans and Susan Baker, where she was immediately impressed by their powerful physiques, as they three of them began to quietly workout together, bonding over common interests and Nick. Emily completed her hospitality degree and found work with one of the NYC tour companies. During one of her first tours near the Empire State Building, she and the other tourists witnessed a car crash, where Emily and the tourists rescued the endangered people, with the help of Garnet and Stalwart. Soon after, Susan, Kayla and Nick all revealed their super identities and persuaded Emily to join the Bee Team. Emily gained her new powers to become Pyro Phoenix and continues to harness them with the help of her friends at the Superhuman Initiative.
