Yes I've heard about it but I actually like the unity dash just hate the unity panel.

ah ok. Another option is Plank. I settled for it, because it's a lightweight dock that supports the unity-notifications/progress-bars.

Plank is nice also I think Elementary OS is going to be an excellent release

I'm really looking forward to it too. Have you seen the latest changes in Gaia? I was really surprised to see a virtual desktop manager as I had asked earlier for it and they said that it wouldn't be realized before Luna.

Yep I keep up with the latest changes but i'm worried by the time Luna will be released Ubuntu 12.10 will be out.

yeah, that's pretty likely right now if it even doesn't get any worse. They should make a code freeze and put out a working new release with a few less features and then develop new features again. Jupiter is just totally outdated and the daily ISOs are not usable.
