From animesque to realistic in a year flat! XD
It's probably just my tastes, but I like your previous art style. I wouldn't say your current style is "bad" per say. The shading and stroke work is great.

All I can say is "wow". The after is just phenomenal, which isn't to say that the before was bad at all. But there's a much better sense of...I don't know...character to the after drawing that makes it incredibely interesting despite the simplicity.
