Description
Here is Entei finally finished, which completes the Trio of Legendary Beasts of Johto!
Just like Raikou (Thunder Emperor) and Suicune (Water Monarch), Entei also has a name with a literal meaning in Japanese, here the Sovereign of Flames. Indeed we find the 炎 en (flame) and 皇帝 kōtei (sovereign, emperor). Like Arcanine and Hisuian Arcanine, Entei is inspired by both komainu 狛犬 and Kaichi 獬豸, its Chinese version. You know, the protective stone statues in the shape of a lion/dog at the entrance to the temples!
In terms of the decor, I wanted to represent Entei at the foot of the Burn Tower (Yaketa Tō 焼けた塔). We can also see in the background the Bell Tower, well known to our friend Ho-Oh.. If you know the lore of Ecruteak City , you will have understood the reference..
