wow, that is just amazing - love the light and the buildings - such good detail
and the person at the bottom really shows how tall everything else is... great work

This piece is an inspiration for the spirit! The contrast between the buildings and the effect on the planet and the fact that its not all metal and there is organic matter allows more variation is good. The simple detail is brilliant and the atmosphere with the clouds above and dust below creates a feel of intoxication and threat building tension and awe. You can't miss the Explosion and lights that stand out and the title at the top makes a nice working for your excellent piece. Light be praised! May the lord continue to guide, protect and enlighten you. He has at least blessed you with these excellent visions, an epic congratulations!

I like the concept better in the other picture you've got, but I've got a soft spot for dark and moody lighting.

I like how that guy at the bottom's not even looking up, and the uneven scaffolding on that building on the right; it's all so normal... except for the exploding planet.

What a great atmosphere! It feels like this single picture tells a story -- a crumbling and rundown nation whose government has poured all its resources into doing... _something_... on their planet's moon...

That's just impressive! I don't know where to stand to praise this hehe... Well, the buildings. They look so realistic somehow. And the sky... Amazing colors used, and the clouds and the light up there... Just woah.

This⦠reminds me so much of a dream I had on the beginning of this year⦠even though I find it tremendously difficult to draw from dreams, this has really caught my interest. It's amazing how you've managed to make the planet above look as if it's gleaming, and when you look closer, it looks like the top has exploded(am I right?). I can also see that the buildings are as high to reach the clouds, and I really like the idea. Where did you get the inspiration from?
β¦β¦Is the person on the page bottom 'God'β¦?
π: 0 β©: 1
Akajork In reply to Pen-scribble [2008-01-13 14:27:45 +0000 UTC]
well first of all: thanks for the comment yea the top of the planet is exploding
the inspiration from this piece came from some work I saw on the net.. I always wanted to make an exploding planet. And I started drawing citys, so I combined them. The whole project god thing is a project Im still working on. It's a little book with some of my artwork in it and a lot of quotes and sentences that I gathered from inspiring people from all over the world. Its still a work in progress and no the person is not god
thanks a lot!

An impact seen from a futuristic city? Makes me wonder whether people took their technology too far and now have caused a disaster of epic proportions. The mood, lighting and colours fill me with uncertainty. It would be an eerie sight, seeing that happen yet hearing absolutely nothing...no sign of when the rocks will fall back down to (earth?)
Reminds me of the newer version of "The Time Machine", I'm sure you've seen the cool scene where the Moon falls down to Earth.
