You got the idea! Yes it was a bit of a pig to corner in. Having the huge fat tyre's all round didn't help, cornering at low speed sure gave you muscles ( no power steering in them days ). No it's not Leeds, The picture was taken from the top of Werneth Low, in the background to the left is Hyde and on the right is Hattersley going over towards Glossop. I used to live in Woodley near Stockport.

Most of my family come from Chapel-en-le-frith and Buxton area. I used to take my cars to different locations to photograph them. My TR7 was photographed at Derwent resevoir. Looking forward to seeing your Ford Pop.

I have those same side pipes on my 69 Camaro. [link]
I had to gut mine because the mufflers that they had built in were only 1 1/2 inch inner diameter. I needed at least 2 1/2.
I love the 60s feel yor car has!

Hi, yes I loved the side pipe. A "Thrush" if I remember correctly. It made a lovely noise! This was originally my yellow Cortina with flames but obviously I was going through my Black phase. It was inspired by the car in the movie "The Car" from 1977. The name on the rear "Lucifer" was my CB handle at the time.

I remembber The Car. It was also a favorite novel of mine, read it before I read Christine.
You're right, those are Thrush side pipes, I have a couple pairs of them. I have them on my Camaro and I have another set I'll be putting onto a 1956 Chevy Belair for my mom. I had another set that were badly damaged, so I used them to create a sort of gasser inspired ram air setup on the Camaro, sort of a running theme through the whole car.
It was pure bliss when I drove through the tunnel in the early morning hours with a gentle rain and the windows open. Just a wonderful combination for all the senses. It's times like that you realize there is peace and harmony in the universe.

The chrome wheels look good against the black paint. I could still use some flames or scallops.

Flames never seem to go out of fashion. Glad you like it. Regards, Paul.
