Ah, Emmet and his invisible mustache. Perhaps they moonlight as Old-School Villians. Y'know, kidnapping damsels and tying them to their train tracks. (Of course, they'd never run anybody over, though, because their reputation. They didn't think this though.)

Y'know, because being Subway Bosses doesn't pay the bills or something. How do they make money, they don't charge for the Subway, I need logic in my magical monsters game!!

Well they don't have to stay on the same train and get to a boss.
They can just pop out of no where.
"YOU THERE OLD LADY SITTING AT THE BACK. I CHALLENGE YOU TO A POKEMON BATTLE"
and then when they win they jump off the subway and run to the cookie store.

And everything is happy. Especially since the old people can't sue for weirdoes leaping out of nowhere! It's in the regulations somewhere (idk near the back of a huge book of regulations which emmet keeps with him)! Yup!
