AKE Raposa de Tarugo
Addison Bailey | Michael Slivel

Raposa's tack having finally arrived in the mail and checked by a saddle fitter, Addison and Michael were eager to put it on the stallion and make sure everything checked out well. In Michael's mind, this was also going to be a fantastic opportunity to teach his student about working equitation tack since she herself was still quite new to the discipline.
Shouldering the custom saddle, Michael followed Addison from the tack room to Raposa's stall, where she was greeted by a nicker from the horse. She slipped him a sugar cube, grinning cheekily at Michael. Her mentor pretended to look disapproving, but being in the good mood that he was, he couldn't help the corners of his lips from curling up. Addy led Raposa from his stall and into the crossties. Having already groomed him, she turned and eagerly awaited instruction from her mentor. She always had a thing for equine and equestrian fashion, and the new, slick, bright leather was drawing her eye like a child on Christmas morning.
Michael could see the glimmer in her eyes, but quickly resumed his gruff demeanor. "It's good work," he remarked, laying the saddle down gently on Raposa's back. "But it's just a saddle."
    "It's gorgeous," Addison replied.
"Mmhm." Michael wiped the leather with his hand to remove any dust on it. "Girth?"
The pair assembled the tack set, complete with custom boots, matching breastcollar, bridle, and reindeer xairel. Michael briefly explained the differences between a dressage saddle (which was what Addison was used to) and the feel of the new Portuguese saddle, but he told her that it would be more evident once she was in the seat.
Raposa, being a well-trained and gentle horse on the ground, stood patiently as he was examined, and threw no fuss over the saddle on his back. It was quite comfortable, in truth. The only thing which seemed to irk him a small amount was the xariel, which he was not used to but quickly seemed to ignore.
Michael explained that Raposa was still in his D ring snaffle bit for the training he was undergoing, but he would be transitioning to a curb as soon as the trainer felt he really solidified every cue in the snaffle first.

Those are quite short people, if the horse really is 162cm.
But beautiful picture nonetheless.

Oh, my! I'm glad you pointed that out! He should be 172, not 162. They are still a little short for that, but oh well.
C'est la vie!

He's stunning! I love his face markings and the orange tack is gorgeous (and I'm weak for Addison's outfit, ungh!) <33 Best of luck to both with this boy

The posing and the choice of colors is amazing! I love the contrast between the tack and the horse's coat!
