PHEW! this took longer than expected. it was originally supposed to be just ichigo, but then i got the idea that i needed to have shirosaki (hollow!ichigo, hichigo, ogichi, whatever you want to call him) in there, too! i've never done him before, but his face is hella fun.

yes, they are mirror images of each other. i wanted it like that though. i think it fits better than having shirosaki having everything EXACTLY like ichigo. besides, i wanted to draw shirosaki skin and if i did his clothes identical to ichigo... he would have had half the kimono on.

in case anyone notices, i also took some liberties, here. that's clearly tensa zangetsu, but it doesn't seem that they're in their bankai gear, ne? well, i didn't want zangetsu's normal form taking up the whole god damn page since it's ginormous. so, there's that, in case you notice it. see, you probably didn't, and now that i've said something, everone's gonna go... OOOOHH! that's NOT RIGHT!

i would REALLY REALLY REALLY appreciate any constructive comments. long, detailed ones. this piece took a little longer than i've generally been committing to my art, so i'd like to know if it made a difference or how it compares to my other stuff/other ichigo/shirosaki fanart.

the title comes from a song i'm currently obsessed with and fit the mood. "into the flood" by deepfield. here are the lyrics... the last part is what i believe fits these two, in a way.

i also kinda feel it fits ichigo since he's at odds with his hollow... and he so hated having it in the beginning. he's not the happiest of characters in the first place (understatement of the year!), but imo, he was particular angsty and full of self loathing at that point.

don't get me started, i could wax bleach for days, literally. is anyone still reading this??
