I will let you know that I have no skill when it comes to sketching like this, but I think one of my favorite aspects of your work is the shading that you've put into it. Β It really gives your character depth, and helps bring him to life on the page. Β Β I think it is wicked awesome that you've included his family crest as an actual addition to the portrait. Β It helps to give it character, and makes you want to really know more about it. Β Will this ever be a digital art piece that you eventually color? Β If not its okay, but I really think it would be cool to see. Β

Hi there from ProjectComment
I like the simple but effective design of this picture. It is amazing what you can do with a few well-placed pen or brush strokes (or whatever tool you used). The pure black and white yield a strong contrast, underlining that your character is a bold and brave warrior (well, that's what I presume at least ). His stern view to the right, and his angular profile underline that. Again, the simplicity of the black/white topic come in handy for this. The oak leaves are a wonderful addition. The oak is a symbol for strength and fortitude. The blue soft coloring rounds of the whole picture perfectly. The only thing about the whole image that I would criticize is there is a bit too much white space on the top. Maybe crop it a little? Just try it and see if the results works out

He is not a warrior, but he is indeed pretty brave and determined. c:

Hi just dropping by to give a critique.
(Note: I am not a pro so I may or may not know what I'm talking about)
From what I see, this piece looks really good, like amazing. I don't want to say perfect because nothing in life is perfect and I feel that if I say perfect, there is no more room for improvement. I think this is really amazing. The composition and the line art with the shadows are on point. I really have nothing to say, but never stop improving. I may not be the best person to ask for improvement but if you are somehow able to improve this, I believe you will reach a point where you have become enlightened. If you are wondering what I am saying, I have no idea.Β
Amazing work!

Hi Sora fromΒ with a . Ink drawnings... Always difficult to do, it is hard to make a expressive piece with only black and white. The hair of the king looks good, not too many strains of it and enough white. The face, i would have done it less blunt, in my opinion the shadow along the nose is a little too large and deep. On the other hand, you can see in one glare the person is male. The collar of the jacket has too less white, it's hard to see where it ends and where the neck starts. Also the mouth could use a little more detail but the bone structure of the face is greatly done! I really love the tree/bush, the leaves are really great, not too much detail and it gives the pic a professional look. It is in the right place to create depth, just as the blue, which makes the face pop out of the drawning. The shadow on the clothes could have been more refined but that is just my taste. All in all great art, with such a difficult medium. Keep up the good work!^^Β Β
