The mans armor was a lot harder to get down on paper though.

I found your style is very befitting to the artwork. The angle you chose is a bit of a confusion for me, and the characters seem to lack stability, but you made a good effort with the proportion of both the characters and the background. The characters' composition is also a well done. The shading, brightness, everything is perfect on its own. You found the perfect balance for them. The anatomy of the characters are well drawn, especially the woman. There might have been a little distraction, but it's all a matter of one's perspective and knowledge. The background also gives the same aura, like the characters. The composition is a match with the characters. Extra hardwork is seen through them. The details are also not being left behind, but maybe the trees need a bit more of them for those who are still on sight. At first, Im not sure if the "water" is supposed to be a swamp or not, perhaps a little bit of attention for that wouldnt hurt. The combination for both characters and background is in sync. It creates the true intention of the artwork, the focus, and the story behind it. Overall, it is a wonderful piece and a very stunning result. It doesnt give any questions. We see it, enjoy it, and feel the power from it. A magnificent and extraordinary touch from the creator to the creation.

I wasnt sure with what the water's supposed to be because of the woman's foot. But if you wanted it to be a swamp, then in my opinion, you shouldnt make the grass too much and make it look like it came from a nearby land. You can reduce the grass' line and made everything below the foot like what below the bridge.
Also, the reason why I found the angle a bit confusing because of where the bridge headed. Some part looks like it headed to the upper left, but the middle looks like it wanted to headed south. I guess it's a matter of a perspective.

Probably not a good idea to stick your foot down on the water that way ... never know what gross slimy thing will burble up from the depths and try to nibble your toes!
