Description Designer : Me
Crafter : Me
Photographer :
Made of 3mm vegetable leather.
Size : 70cm for 16x8cm on the top and 14x6cm on the bottom

I finished it a few mounth ago but couldn't take good picture of it. Now it's done, thanks to

So here is my quiver. It is made of five part : three for the body of it and two decoratives ones. The first are laced togheter and the last are sewed.
All pieces are bordered with arabesque. The center part is decorated with a leviathan that as carved, beveled and textured by hand.
The full cration was dyed with turquoise, blue and finally darkened with black.

Concerning the harness for wearing it, it is made of three braid hold together by a central piece. They are adjustable by buckle and fastened by snap (easier and faster to put on).

Like all my product, this one is made of vegetable leather. It's a leather tanned with vegetable product like oak bark. This particulary leather can be worked as wished. It absorb sweat and let the skin breath. It's sturdy and with care it can last for years.
Cut by myself then dyed. It received a first coat of oil.

Like all my product it is fully handmade by myself.

Every comment is welcome.

Thanks in advance for faving and adding.

I wish to improve, so I'm open to every suggestion

Firts thing, thanks for your critique

I didn't really get what part you called "trim".
The two pieces added by sewing are volontary brighter.

By trim, I am referring to the tooling you did around the edges of the pieces you added to each end.

The trim was carved before dyeing and all pieces where dyed together.

Wow! Amazing work. May I ask what kind of tools you use for engraving? Do you dye it before engraving or after, to make the pattern stand out so well and become so visible?

how much for a quiver commision? i love this quiver, it looks very sturdy but functional also. the dragon is beautiful leatherwork, but not my taste. how much for a quiver with and without a big engraving?

thanks man, by far one of the most beautiful quivers i have ever seen!

How much would it be for one of those quivers that go on your hip rather than on your back?

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

akinra-workshop In reply to jadeTheKitteh [2012-05-11 05:19:31 +0000 UTC]

Depend on what carving and decoration you want. I think we can start from 75-80 euros for a rather basic one.

This one is mine, but of course I can make a quiver on order, even with your color and design, so that it is totally unique!

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

MidevalExponents2sqr In reply to akinra-workshop [2012-05-10 06:03:47 +0000 UTC]

How much?

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

akinra-workshop In reply to MidevalExponents2sqr [2012-05-10 06:14:48 +0000 UTC]

Depend on what you exactly want. For exemple a perfect copy of the blue leviathan quiver would cost around 230 euros (300 USD) and it is nearly the more expensive that I can do.

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

MidevalExponents2sqr In reply to akinra-workshop [2012-05-10 10:37:56 +0000 UTC]

What about if you don't have to dye the leather? I'm thinking like a normal looking quiver with maybe some elven influence

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

akinra-workshop In reply to MidevalExponents2sqr [2012-05-10 10:49:30 +0000 UTC]

That's not the dye that cost much, it's the time passed on the engraving and the carving.

Very very cool, I like the simple celtic designs at the top, and interesting how you made it left handed, or is that easily reversable? What kind of a pattern did you use for the trim?

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

akinra-workshop In reply to freedomofpeace [2012-05-10 05:59:11 +0000 UTC]

It is reversable. I'm a left-eyed but you can wear it at right. I made it symetric
