Heh yeah, I know how it is; my last relationship was that way, except it was the guy who didn't love me back.
But luckily I got out of that mud-hole.

I had the same situation with my boyfriend, but loving is what I do. That's my purpose in life, to love and show others what love is. I have to break a few hearts, which sucks, but still. Hard job, haha. But yeah, I knew I liked him a lot, so I ended up telling him and he said he liked me too. I wasn't sure if I actually wanted to be with him, because everybody he's ever been with had left him early on. I knew I wanted to be the one to change that, but the question was, could I? He had never truely loved, and he needed to learn what love really felt like. He had never felt it. So, I decided to give it a chance, because he needed it and I needed to be healed from the person who had just broken my heart. And I liked him a lot, I wanted to be his. We're together now, and I'm giving him all the love in the world. He knows what love feels like now. And I never feel happier than when I'm in his arms. I just think that he's amazing. I let myself love him just as I should. Before, I was afraid to love again, and so soon after being broken, but he's healed me just my being there and being mine. And, I'm glad I'm his. I've honestly never met anyone better, he's always making me laugh and smile, even when he isn't really trying to.
I guess what I'm saying is give it a shot. The feeling will grow, it always does. Happened with me ex.. He loved me a lot but I only say him as a friend. I broke up with him because of it, but we eventually got back together and I loved him a ton! But we had to break up again because he wasn't going to see me for a good while. We ended up going back out over the summer, but our relationship was just over text since he couldn't see me. Then he started to like this girl I disliked a lot because she was a whore, so I ended it. He still loves me although he's with that girl, but I don't return his feelings any longer, 'cause now I'm Blake's, and Blake's only. <3.

and yeah, i had to break a few hearts in the past, too. and it isn't a good feeling, indeed. so i just can't tell him that there's may no future for us :L
he's still soooo important to me, but i guess he would end everything if i'd do it now. it's just way too late.
so i guess, i still hope i'll get over everything and give him my love one day ._.
But that's so sweet of you, that you gave him a chance to feel real love. i've also never truly loved i guess o__o there's just not the right one lol. ah well, but maybe it will end up good for me & him. will see what my head&heart say then :l

I really like his paws and the sublte shading you've used ^^ also his eyes are different from your characters and it makes it a really good effect.
(Is there any tips you can give me for shading like that? I've never seen a tut or tried it before T.T )
