You must be psychic (or something) - on my morning walk there is a certain tree where some years back I put a sheep's skull ( there are many in the woods) onto a long dead branch- it is still there, slowly turning green. Maybe I should try talking to the tree?

Falling Tree, you've got a little something around you mouth. It looks like...oh dear...
What a wonderful illustration! It seems so sweet and innocent at first glance with the natural setting and the smiling young woman, but as soon as you look more closely it takes on a more sinister quality. Alls those skulls, and the odd, slightly disturbing expression inΒ Lycania's eyes. Not to mention the tree's face! I agree with Sleyf, the white and gold plants have a magical quality to them.Β

I'm so glad you like it! Lycania is the sort of person who doesn't see scary like other people do...which allows her to befriend all manner of strange creatures...She herself wouldn't hurt a fly though.Β

Oh no, it ate a unicorn! I love the creepy upside down smile contrasting her more innocent (yet kind of just as unsettling, given the setting) smile. Also i really like how those little plants are just white, like soul plants or something eerie/mystical

The idea with the smile being upside down is that Falling Tree often grabs his victims by the legs and pulls them into the air so that their last sight is his face. Because the face is upside down, they can see it the right way up....he is such a considerate tree....

Aw, she's sitting the lee of it's branches, that's so cu- aaaaaand those are skulls. It's freaking carnivorous, isn't it? Very well done, I like the gentle whimsey the piece contains coupled with a very girm dark edge. The mist effect you went for came out well, giving the piece a very mysterious feel. Your watercolours look very good! Nice job!

Wow, I just love your watercolour soooo much! This one looks just amazing - it is such an original concept and the contrast between smiling Lycania and the creepy tree with skulls is really intriguing! How come they know each other? The tree looks a bit evil, is Lycania evil as well, or are appearances misleading?
