Description I just got back from a very brief vacation and decided to post a recent picture of Theodosios from my tumblr. I missed drawing him. Isn't he the most sincere-eyed bureaucrat? Apologies for the sketchiness but I wanted to finish it quickly...(so busy). Recently I've mostly been doing digital art because it's just so much more convenient (less cleaning, easier to leave a picture and come back to it when I have time etc.) but I can't seem to stick with a style...each picture is different.

Heh, well he doesn't really...He wants the empire to last...but that is not something to be achieved by one lowly bureaucrat.

That's true. Good to know that his intentions are noble ^^

It looks splendid! I think you could add some details like letters to the book or some more decorations to the clothes but it looks great either way. The face in particular.

Thank you so much! True about the lettering and patterns on clothing, I will have to add the details at some point and update it! I'm badly organized and always struggling with getting my tasks done so I tend to rush things! Thank you for commenting!

Wow, this is stunning. It's great to see you do more of him, and with such a great pose as well! Haah, most "sincere-eyed..."

I got your message already. xD I love the small details you've done in the background, such as the wall and the details on it and the building (is it the Hagia Sofia?) outside.

Great job on Theo's hands. They look somewhat delicate yet worn--I suppose that fits him. And once again, as you always do, the colour scheme of his clothes is just so perfect!

Thanks so much! I'm so glad you like it! Haha, well he actually is sincere - in his concern for the welfare of the Empire that is. If that requires some lies, bribes and underhanded activities then that is what he will do...But it's never for his own benefit.
And yeah, it is supposed to be a very rough, rushed version of the Hagia Sophia behind him. He rents a room from an old widow with the most wonderful view you could wish for!

Well, that's it xD I knew he was always somewhat Machiavellian, so he's not "sincere" when it comes from the viewpoint of people who believe you must be truthful in everything you do, but he is sincere in that he really cares about the welfare of the Empire. Others may agree differently and dislike his methods...

Wow, that rent fee must be super expensive, because that view is truly epic Chlodvig probably appreciates the view as well when he comes to visit him in the room.

Well actually I was thinking it might not be that high...it's just one room after all..He's a pretty modest guy actually - at least when it comes to material things...He's arrogant about other stuff but not about money/wealth. Once we rented a small flat in Istanbul which had pretty much a view like this (well without the roses but you know what I mean) and it wasn't expensive at all...The location wasn't that great, but the Hagia Sophia is so big you can see it well even if you're quite a way off...

Ah, nice, did not know about that. He's probably more arrogant about his intelligence and knowledge of tactics and stuff, as well as his machinations, but doesn't care for the material, right?
