Description Name: Gilgarmesh
Alias: The Gar Emperor
Factions: Rogue
Alignment: Neutral
Rank: 5

Stats
Height: 50 Meters
Length: 170 Meters
Weight: 57,000 Tons

Powers and Abilities
-Medieval Bone-Mail: From tip of the snout down to near the tailfin, Gilgarmesh is an armored beast that demands as much respect as the Black Knight. The head alone is a jointed helmet that is as thick as his skull(As it is part of his skull) and his body is coated in thick, boney scutes that make nearly all military weapons entirely useless. Physical blows from monsters are virtually useless as well, with all but the mightiest strikes able to do any real damage. Aside from protection, Gilgarmesh can use his armored head like a battering ram with his entire serpent body propelling him forward like a massive, living missile which is sure to bust bones for unarmored targets.
-Dentist Says Perfect: Several very sharp teeth line the jaw, tongue, gill slits and even Gilgarmesh’s throat which are all used for piercing and killing prey and rending flesh. The teeth are also wicked in their direction, size and shape which could match just about any shark. This is the predators bread’n’butter and a bite will leave smaller teeth easily snapped off bite wounds like painful splinters. However, the real secret of Gilgarmesh’s bite is the odd mechanics of it. When Gilgarmesh bites something, all of the teeth will begin to fall out! Every single one and they will be replaced within minutes. So every bite Gilgarmesh will make is as painful and devastating as the last.
-Lungs: Gilgarmesh has lungs and can easily breathe under water like every other fish. It would be safe to say that even for a Kaiju of this power, even he could not survive long out of water and thus limited. This is not true. Gilgarmesh has a pair of large, functional lungs in his body that allow him to breathe the air as many higher creatures. He can survive just fine out of water just as well as he can in water.
-Amphibious: With his lungs it is no surprise that Gilgarmesh can not only breathe air, but also climb out of water and move about as well as a lungfish or a walking catfish. He has only one pair of limbs that are his front fins, and each of those are like long, sturdy clawed hands which he uses to drag himself along all the better then without said limbs. Generally they are useless for fighting and serve little purpose outside of dragging along land and scratching the occasional itch.
-Mighty Fin of Da Bayou: Gilgarmesh has great size and it shows. He is the largest creature in the Giga Everglades and outsizes even Thundercroc right down to it. Partly due to this and mostly due to his tail build, Gilgarmesh can exert incredible forces several times his own mass and fling smaller monsters like bath toys, cause swampy tsunamis and even cripple larger monsters with a powerful strike of his tail fin. This tail is also what can propel him forward and clear out of the water and into the air like a missile to use his head as a ram.

Weaknesses
-Soft Belly: Gilgarmesh suffers from being armored everywhere but his stomach and underside which is significantly less armored then the rest of him. It is more vulnerable to the point that more basic military fire pierces and damages him. It is a weakness to keep in mind.
-Out of Your Element: Gilgarmesh may be able to crawl onto land and move about in the sense of actually doing so… but doing it well is something else entirely. He is about as maneuverable as an alligator that only has the use of its front legs. Fighting around on land will almost always give Gilgarmesh a negative advantage and prolonged battle on land will fatigue him much quicker than normal.

Personality
First and foremost, Giglarmesh is top predator and challenged by nearly no other native life in all of what was once Florida. His status of being top dog of his world has led to him leading quite the comfortable daily life and thus makes him a very calm Kaiju when left undisturbed. In a world of giant monsters, he is well equipped to earn the serenity.
At most, he cruises his territory daily and hunts. Even when attacked, he will often ignore smaller problems before any other actions. Larger threats often get instant results. When he does react, he begins with biting the water surface and splashing loudly. Persistence earns his full attack mode and he will pursue with great prejudice. Once he becomes aggressive, he can be as vicious as a Piranha with the disposition of a Northern Pike.
Left to his own devices, he will be content with cruising, basking and hunting. When he does hunt, nothing is safe. Nearly every other animal smaller than he is prey and sometimes he will take bites out of bigger targets such as Thundercroc on occasion. Though, Thundercroc is sure to return the favor at one point or the other.
Though a wild animal, he is fairly intelligent and can communicate with other kaiju and even humans, though in very crude gestures that normally tell the problem to “Piss Off” as one Kaijuologist had stated it. Gilgarmesh has decided humanity is not worth his attention due to the fact that they are too small to eat and too feeble to be a serious threat; occasional antagonizing aside.
As a fighter, Gilgarmesh uses Guerilla Warfare tactics. He attacks quick, hard and fast and is quick to retreat to set up another assault. It works very well in the maze-like world he lives in and he knows it. Overall it not only does effective damage, but it also will cause tension and paranoia in opponents.

Epoch: Present Day and Onward

History
The 20Y5 Hypercane was an absolute disaster that gave no hope of recovering the state of Florida. It was flooded due to the great break and within months, swarming with Gigafauna and Kaiju. Such monsters were not about to up and leave either as they moved to the surface due to the fact that their hollows had been flooded and destroyed.
Where cities, farms and owned land once stood was now at least thirty feet underwater and stalked by new forms of life. Ozdactyles claimed the skies alongside ever growing avians, Spinonyx became as common as possible for a true kaiju due to the perfect habitat for them, Thundercroc too had taken up near permanent residency and Crocoshark would forever pass through the flooded state from then on out. None of them though cast the kingly shadow along the waterways like the one of a kind Gilgarmesh.

Named by the media after the great historical warrior Gilgramesh, GilGARmesh was king of the briny bayou. He was the only one of his kind as it turned out. No others like him have been seen and its wondered if he is a recent isolated case or if he is just the last of his kind. Truly, he owned the entire state and thus gave the nickname “The Kingdom” to the Giga Everglades.
IT did not last, though. Some months later, Thundercroc turned up and quickly started a territorial battle that rocked the Everglades until Gilgarmesh had lost a lot of blood and one of his fins. Ever since the state was divided into two worlds named “The Kingdom of The Thunder Crocodile” and “The Kingdom of The Gar Emperor”. The two attempt to take more territory from each other at least once a month.
No one is safe on his side either. Gilgarmesh patrols his borders often and will run off any threats he sees. Hera nearly got crippled and was forced to take to high ground until she healed. She was quick to vacate the area. Xenus too also wandered in too close at least once and almost never saw the light of the next day. Manticore dogs have been taken and eaten by him, and Crocoshark has been known to get into fights with The Gar Emperor as well.
Though the most hilarious reported attack on another monster was Creeping Death who had respawned in the Giga Everglades and wandered too close to Gilgarmesh when he was sunbathing. Creeping Death was grabbed, swung around like a chew toy, banged around and ultimately sent flying over the territory boundary where it would be Thundercroc’s problem.

Vastrato is the only monster to ever get a strong foothold and defeat Gilgarmesh. That battle lasted an entire day with the two throwing blows with enough force to smash countries, or so the Media stated it. At long last, Vastrato’s amazing durability and size won over the battle. Gilgarmesh was swung around in the dinosaur’s jaws over and over before a large amount of flesh was torn free. Ever since that battle, Gilgarmesh would duck and cover when Vastrato came near the border.

Despite being a fierce top dog and a predator, Gilgarmesh acts almost like a king with some smaller Gigafauna. Namely the Ozdyctles who land near and on the fish with no fear. Much like small birds pecking at crocodiles teeth, the Ozdyctles found fascination with picking at the gar’s teeth. Sometimes they take loose teeth; Gilgarmesh seemingly doesn’t care.

Ultimately, Gilgarmesh is what partly sealed Florida off from the rest of North America as a state; too much hard work that would only be ruined later by sea levels and giant monsters walking around. The waters were deemed toxic with laced Enigma Energy and monsters now roamed most of it. Except for the northern bits of the state, but it was not recommended or openly desired having borders with giant monsters that could step on the unlucky house.
So the American Government gave up. Despite the law against it, many who fled from the incoming Hypercane attempted to return home. Some succeeded and now live happily among the mangrove roots and small patches of land. Turns out that Gilgarmesh, despite being a serious force to deal with, commands enough respect to drive out nearly every rank-3 and rank-4 kaiju from bayou. Gilgarmesh likewise doesn’t care of their existence one way or the other. Some days he can be seen laying asleep right outside the bedroom window “like a bawler” as a local once said.
With Gilgarmesh around to protect it, it seems the Giga Everglades is to become a refuge among an evolving world.

Important Dates
-20Y5: Not long after many kaiju had left North America(Tyrants, Hydra and various others going along the Atlantis Crusade), the words first Hypercane(named Tempest) is sparked along the equator and strikes the southern states with a force like never seen on earth before. The storm is so powerful that it "Breaks the State" in several places and causes it to collapse downward and ultimately below sea level. Not long after, many monsters appear and take over the now flooded land with several new ones. A massive gar monster named Gilgramesh becomes the top predator, and Thundercroc moves in soon after. Ever since, both Rank-5 Kaiju have dominated the state and had an annual turf war at least once a month.

-----------------------------------------------------

First off... MY NEW ART STYLE.. THE DETAIL... THE EPICNESS. Please praise ~w~

Second, here we go with Gilgarmesh. Now, I wanna flat out state that I loved Ren's work for when he did this way, way back and I thank him for his time on that. So honorable burial to the original text.
But not much has changed from the original stuff. Far from it and stuff. Just differently worded... and not as long since some of it went all the way to the Giga Everglades bio.

ANOTHER ONE BITES, DA DUST! ...and yet still so much more.
Oh well. Gives me stuff to do and its pretty fun when it isn't being unpleasant.

Pardon my language but. This is a fucking epic redo! I love how you used the white as the center highlight which you see on fish. Also the pose looks better, seems less scrunched up then the original.

You put so much thought into your creatures ; ^ ; this moves me deeply! So many people draw lots of creatures but only few add thoughts about their biology and all. Like big white blotches on the maps of the country Fantastica. And you certainly do have skills when it comes to heads and teeth.
Gods I remember my first fishface <_<; it looked horrible. You are way better! Many people forget the different fishhead segments, they think they are only upper jaw and lower jaw like mammal heads, but no.
I seriously want to draw this guy!

While I did write most of the thing out and drew the picture, RenDragonClaw helped out too. He usually turns my work into more divine peices, though I never asked him too. Hes a good freind.

Please do draw fan art ^_^

An interesting monster. For some reason his pose reminds me of William Blake's drawing of Leviathan, which is definitely a good thing. It's also neat how the story alters our geography in KAS - there's more and more monster zones now.

Since Tyrannopyrodon is yours and there is mentioning of 2 in the Giga Everglades, maybe you can use that. idk, just throwing out ideas incase you wanna use them.
