if you can't set the png as an icon for the apps, open the png file with prewiev press cmd +a then cmd+ c, then open the informations of the program and insert it on the top (left) where the default icon is,

Would it be possible for you to do an icon for "Sakura" which is a Mac App. You should be able to find the icon with a google search.
