Crystal swords are a classic in modern fantasy, and this does an excellent job of capturing that. The premiere texture is excellent, the lighting and color variation creating a solid impression of the concept of crystal.
That said, the coloration could fit better with the written background - the deep, dark blues putting the mind further from heroism than villainy. It would also be nice to see some of the green in the main blade followed through to the rest of the weapon - the pure blue of the hilt’s crystals reading much as ice, making it seem, again, a colder weapon than the description would entail.
Ultimately, however, the biggest issue with the weapon is the proportions. The grip and pommel are far too small and thin compared to the guard and blade. It makes the weapon appear unwieldy and unbalanced to its detriment, and it’s distracting. While the simplistic design for the grip works, it needs to be much thicker to support the rest of the construction.
