This ubersecret upcoming King’s Quest project* has been affecting my brain in a number of adverse ways. I recently had an idea to create a music video with various Sierra characters using I Need Sleep’s song, “Dance Like an Idiot”. This is not a good sign.On the less disturbing side, I’ve been contributing a hecukva lot of KQ art to the fandom, although KQ fans who are fans of just KQ and not any of the related fan projects are a bit hard to come by these days.
Anyway, it’s Edgar and Alex, talking. Sheesh, you try to strike up a friendly conversation with your in-laws and they treat you like some kind of disease. (I was thinking of doing a similar scene with Rosella and Cassima, but I can’t think of any funny conversation topics for them…yet.)
*If you don’t know what I’m talking about, I apparently haven’t been plugging it enough.

Alexander doesn't get hypnotized by a sorceress every five minutes. Edgar better watch his step with Alex, this was the guy who turned a wizard into a cat, used lightning on a three headed dragon to save his sis, and faced everything up to and including Hades himself for a girl. Not to mention he comes from a BAMF family.

For the most part , I don't think they'd have a conversation like this. I think Alexander would be much friendlier to Edgar...It's funny but unless you're doing a parody of the series or something, I would count this as them being out of character.

Well, everyone has their bad days...Edgar's accidentally turning Alex's sister into a troll might have something to do with Alex's mood.
And yes, this isn't meant to be taken seriously. Not much of my fan art is.

Oh, I just meant that Alexander is quite the poet- just look at his lines in KQVI. I didn't mean it negatively, just that Alexander is very literate.
Edgar is totally Mr. Emo boy of the century! He kidnapped Rosella because "she would never love him otherwise... could she ever forgive him... blah blah blah."
I love the boy anyway, though he isn't anywhere near as cool as Alexander.

Ah. I usually see art and literature as two different things, which explains my confusion.
(Hmm...and here I thought Edgar kidnapped her because somehow he knew that she would end up saving Etheria and Eldritch....but that's just me.)

I had really never thought of it that way. I have always seen Edgar as not being totally "with it" when he is a troll (is it wrong to assume that? Maybe.). Not like he's stupid, but just like the spell is clouding some of his better judgement.
But you could be completely right, which changes my views of Edgar a bit.

It's just a pet theory of mine, but I must say that if his "kidnapping" Rosella was just an accident brought on by his own confusion, that was one darned lucky accident.

Now that you mention it, I was thinking how odd it is for everyone to portray Alexander as Sir Angstalot when Edgar has just as many issues as he does, if not more so. I mean, the guy almost blew up his homeland and died, fercryinoutloud.
Art kid? I'm not sure if I "get" that moniker..would you mind explaining it to someone who isn't quite "in the know"?

What? Edgar's hair is strange? Have you looked in a mirror in the last ten years, mullet-head? XD At least Alexander knows better than have a magical duel with a fairy prince.
Hmm, you'd think these two could get along; their pasts are somewhat similar, after all. Then again, Edgar's passive personality probably gets on Alexander's nerves at times.

I've actually never thought of his hair as being mullet-ish. That slicked-back look started to get on my nerves after a while, though. Too much forehead.

I actually was thinking of having Cassima and Rosella talking about that very thing, something like, "It's an odd coincidence, isn't it? Both our husbands being kidnapped during their infancies and being raised by evil entities..."

Alex is probably just too proud to admit that he's not the only prince who saved his girlfriend from certain death and liberated a kingdom from evil along the way (in fact, Edgar's saved two kingdoms, if you count his inverventions in Tamir). Jealous, are we?
