Description
Originally, this pic should had been a pic in a comic, the comic about why Alaric and Piona never quarrel with each other and how their "anger managemet" works...However, it turned out so well, that I had to make a serious drawing out of it. So this is Alaric and Piona training with each other, since they would kill any other opponent in a training fight, exept for Ibraxius Maxilla, who is not willed to do so.

All right, here goes:
The posing a bit reminds me of the ancient egyptian wall paintings, specificly Alaric. Thats not a bad thing realy, its just a bit out of place. When i think of egyptian paintings i think of stone, enduring time, stiffness, not something so dynamic as this scene ment to be. Of course there are great dynamic painting left by the egyptians, like battle scenes, but the style itself isnt dynamic enough. But the size of bodyparts compared to each other is pretty good on this one.
Alaric's wings seem hard as stone too, if i wouldnt know what a wing does i wouldnt be able to imagine him flying with those. Piona's cape is cloth, but the outline is too clean, I cant see the flow of motion. A cape in a scene like that should represent where the wearer was a moment ago, and add that motion to the picture, it should be a perfect expression of movement. Here face is a bit wierd, but i cant quite help there: Hands and fingers on a human face is one of the hardest thing to draw.
Lastly, i would get rid of that horizontal line, it has no continuity on the right side of the picture, and without more detail on the background it is quite distracting and useless.

Thank you.
Yeah, I tried more complicated movements and poses here, and I guess I need some more practice in it, since it is the beginning of a new area in drawing.
Next time I'll study more of dynamic pictures before trying again.

Oh dont let me discourage you
Realy the only thing here is the cloth: Just get wild with it. Just about any level of complexity is fine as long as the texture and shading still represents a cloth. The more complex it is the more dynamic it looks.
The thing with the wings is more like a strictly texture/shading problem: And that there are no individual feathers visible. In motion and during flying, feathers spread out (as an extra device to the maintain balance of the creature) and even bend slightly.

Discourage me? Never.
And yeah, you got the point, as usual. I have great troubles shading clothing the right way and make it bend the right way. That is my weakest point, from what I can tell.
And wings... well. We both know that they can be a real pain when it comes down to details. BUT I WON'T BE DEFEATED! MUHAHA!
