the class they belong to is called cephalopodae meaning "head foot". Cuttlefish are among my favourite sea creatures, as at least one species within this family is known to exhibit gender variant behavior patterns during mating season. Cephalopods in general have become a bit of a fascination of mine, given the level of intelligence they are said to possess. They have been dubbed "the primates of the sea." And yes, they are very cute as well.

I love how grumpy its eye looks. Cuttlefish are remarkably cute little things when they're small.

Never underst0od the name, though. The "cuttle" part I understand because it has a cuttlebone. Not sure what differentiates a cuttlebone from the mantles of other cephalopods. It's the "fish" part I don't get. Like "Ginea pig" or "koala bear."
