When I first started drawing this, I wasn't thinking of any symbolism or story with it. But somehow now I see a man and lady in the forest--part of the forest indeed--who maybe are looking for their soulmate and don't know that they are close by. But they are connected and they will find each other. Don't ask me how that will work with trees that are rooted in place; it doesn't have to make sense!
Maybe they're like the Dryads in the Chronicles of Narnia. Their spirits can wander while their physical forms stay in place. Is that how that worked?
