A new ship is setting sail and it's Kesa's first! I don't know if it will be an AU thing or perhaps eventually worked into Kesa's head canon, but I'm now shipping my SWTOR OC Kesarah with SlingBlade87 's OC, Ka Han. After reading his fan fiction "Knights Errant " thus far, I'm definitely enjoying these two together. I never thought a character could be such a good match for Kesa, but Ka really fits the bill imho. I'm not sure what they'd be called. Most ships have some sort of combination of names. Kasa? KK? Keska?
So, what do you think? Am I going to be rowing this rowboat all on my own or will you help me turn this ship into a yacht? I'd love to hear your thoughts.

I dub this ship the SS Keska and thusly christened may it sail on in good order.
I know I'm a bit late to the party here but seriously this was amazing to see. Really I didn't know what to think here when I first saw it in that comment you sent me.
I absolutely love the dynamism in their poses and expressions. Their poses just imply so much action that it comes alive in a way that is often hard to translate in rendered works. Their expressions are a real treat, Kesarah looks like she's having the time of her life and living it up while Ka is a bit more reluctant though still has that subtle smile I enjoy portraying him with so much.
Seriously I couldn't have asked for a better show piece for this storyline, wonderful work.

It was a real treat to make this. I guess sort of like letting the hands go on autopilot while writing, I did that when posing this. My mind was enthralled in the story and I just moved them into the first position that came to me, inspired by their shadow dance.

My gut response is to say that there's enough AU canons to go around that we can have it any which way we want. That said, that's a ship battle that I'd really enjoy seeing on a grand scale lol.
Kesopatrix is a futile ship though. 0bi and I talked in detail way back when how close Kesa and Fern were. It's just sisterly love. AU's can involve changes in backstory and personality though, so who am I to stand in the way of someone's OTP?

I mean I already have a few people looking at me sideways for this whole affair with Kesa and Ka which I find amusing since obviously this is an entirely different storyline from Kahan's original canon that I've established.

It's devilishly fun! I really enjoy splinter timelines that take characters in very different directions.
I understand why some people might be reluctant about Keska (that's the name I'm going with for now) considering Kahan's already established story and pairings. All I need to hear is "separate timeline" and I'm good. I can understand though. At the very least, it's amusing to see people rush to Aira-ty's defense lol.

After reading Knights Errant thus far, I just couldn't resist anymore. I simply HAD to make an image of these two. I really hope I was able to capture the dynamic between them that is presented in the story.

I'm deeply flattered to be included in such a list of artists! Great art is contagious. It's as simple as that. I've seen fantastic fan fictions arise out of inspiration of one image and I've seen many great images inspired by one fan fiction.
lol I'm thrilled that you like my work so much. I tried commissions, I really did. They just put such a dampener on my creativity. I keep going back and forth in considering a patreon account though, like a tip jar of sorts.

Hah, I'd feel bad suggesting what I have in mind, because it involves my character. I never just request for my character to be drawn without some kind of payment, or trade or something. I'd feel bad!
I'm still trying to pay back a guy's kindness in taking time to do like, an actual picture of her. (And it's awesome, and you can see it here ! This guy's comics are also hilarious, I really recommend you take the time to read them!

I read about her past recently, and it about broke my heart... I was wondering why she had issues with really loving someone, and just... that was painful to read, but so vivid, and I feel for her so much. I hope she finds true happiness soon! It's really nice seeing her with Kahan, even though it's a little weird not seeing him with Aira-ty(And I have this weird second hand jealousy, because my character has a brief affair with him, hehe! I can just imagine her being all pouty seeing them)

I'm an annoyingly slow reader, so don't expect a quick comment, but I'll take a look at your gallery and learn about Ruto. I'm so incredibly glad that you like Kesa so much. I put a lot of thought into my characters' backstories and it's so great when people connect with them as you've described. It makes all of the effort worth while. Kesarah is easily one of my favorite OC's and I feel so fortunate that so many people have taken an interest in her.
It gets easier seeing favorite characters in multiple pairings. AU's can be quite beautiful if you let them flourish. For example, Barriss Offee is my favorite Star Wars canon character. I wasn't so open-minded at first, but now I'm an avid fan of her in multiple writers' and artists' AU's involving different pairings.

Hah, I know how you feel! I really hope you like her, unfortunately, writing's been hard lately, and not all of the stories connect yet, it kinda jumps around in her timeline.
Also, Slade and I kinda traded off lines in the first stories I posted about her, and I didn't edit it well, sadly... So, uh, sorry if it doesn't all make sense... I'm working on them, still!
I'm a bit worried I didn't portray her personality well, honestly, but then again, in the featured story about her at the moment, she's kind of traumatized.

Yeah? Awesome! I honestly am not sure what you could write about with Kesa. I'm a firm believer and letting the artist's inspirations lead the way. If you'd like me to brush up a few synopses though I would be happy to. I still can't really believe that Kesa is being embraced so much. I've created many OC's. I love them all, but a lot of the first ones were duds as far as the public eye is concerned. I suppose practice maker perfect in this case.
I know what you mean by scattered timeline. Another one of my OC's, Scarlyn, is so disjointed it's borderline humorous. Every time I write a new story for her, there's no telling where it is in her life compared to the others. I have a timeline of her life in my head, but that really doesn't help the readers at all. I didn't want to make that same mistake with Kesa, especially after I saw her popularity blossom. That's why I took the time to construct her character profile. Though it may not address specific storylines like Knights Errant and Take CenterPoint, it gives the reader everything they need to know before jumping into any story featuring her. I'm going to make one for Scarlyn eventually, but that's on the to-do list along with about three dozen other artistic agendas lol.
I don't know much about Kahan's other love interests yet, but judging by what I do know, it would be an entertaining powder keg lol.
Well, off of the top of my head, this render was a request and it turned into one of my most popular deviations. It's kind of cruel: This took ma only 90 minutes and it was a hit, yet renders that I spend weeks on barely get noticed at all

Heh, yeah, I have so many stories for Ruto planned, but I have no order in which I intend to write them, I feel sorry for people who read my stories! One minute she's with Thedric and doing Jedi things, next thing she's a gladiator and taking care of her son, then suddenly her son's grown up...
I just hope those stories are entertaining to read! Time lines won't do much if my stories stink!
What I do to help clarify things in her time line is to kinda summarize things that recently happened in specific ways. Hopefully that helps!
Aira-ty is absolutely butt kickish, on top of being kinda grumpy to those who don't know her well, and she can be pretty agressive. But she can be very kind, sweet too.
Ruto, as I like to put it, is, 'smoll but will fite u.'
Which, for those of us who aren't versed in Lolspeak, means she's the small grumpy character who hates that she's so small, and kinda tries to make up for it by being a confident dork. Don't ever make fun of how small she is, she will be VERY angry! I kinda based her off of Edward Elric, which you can kinda see in her last name.
Slade says she's very enjoyable, which I hope is true
And of course we all know Kesa!

When Kesa was...
6 Years Old: She was an adorable little brat. She was cute and sweet and she knew how to use her youth to get what she wanted.
12 Years Old: A blossoming rebellious child, Kesa was interested in causing mayhem for the Dilligas estate to spite her parents, including pretending to runaway and then doubling back, making everyone search for her when she's actually at home.
16 Years Old: If you think "religious fanatic dedicated to a cult" you're not far off. She was absolutely devoted to Shae. All of her actions were to gain Shae's approval or avoid Shae's wrath. During this time, she was a galactic renowned thief.
19 Years Old: Knights Errant would be a good example here.
25 Years Old: Take CenterPoint would be a good example here.
I'll try to think up some scenarios for stories. If one comes to you though, share the idea! Oh, and don't worry about finishing. I've been told that I'm a good collaborator. I can help
Thanks for the rundown of Kahan's Harem. It does indeed sound like a hilarious kerfuffle. I'm sure I'll construct 3D versions of Aira-Ty and Ruto at some point, but it won't be quick. It's a lot easier to create art with characters that I've already pieced together. Building characters takes several hours or days depending on the character. Slade's character, Demia Hadra, took over a week lol.
Oh, I'm lousy at picking favorites. I always have been. "What's your favorite color?" was a difficult question for me as a kid lol. I tend to keep recent works that I'm particularly proud of though on my main page. Right now, it's Woven Shadows and Leap.

Fern is 0biwanken0bie 's OC. Her involvement in Kesa's story went through collaborating 0bi and getting his approval to use the character. Here's her backstory:
If you seek to use Fern is a primary roll in the story, I strongly recommend getting his permission to use the character.
Fern was integral in Kesa's recovery, mostly for moral support. Kesa hit her deepest low and felt just as worthless as she was lost. Through the Jedi Order and Fern's guidance, she slowly found purpose again. Fern specifically helped Kesa reunite with her parents which in turn helped Kesa rediscover who she was before Shae. Eventually, Kesa put her best effort into surgically cutting her time with Shae out of her identity. She likes to think of them as lost years of her life that she'll never get back and would rather not dwell on.

As much as we'd like to hide it and deny it, we write what we know. I can't speak for others, but my characters certainly have a lot in common with me. I never intended it and only realized it after making several characters. Most of my characters have a dark past, typically involving manipulation, identity crisis, and self-destructive perspectives. Go figure, I have a dark past too. Most of my characters dance on the line of neutrality between light and dark, continually facing the inner demons that pull one way or the other. I'm a gemini, continually focused and at the mercy of duality. It goes on and on lol.
Yeah, I may at some point explore Kesa's family reunion, but that specific element of her life story hits a little too close to home still. Out of all of my OC's, Kesa has the most in common with me.
Shae will return, and I'm sad to say that it won't be a happy story for Kesa. I'm not sure how that confrontation will end either, but I am a sucker for happy endings.

My main OC doesn't have too much in common with me, it's mostly just her bouncy personality and how dorky she is, what happens to her and how she reacts to it is mostly herself. A lot of my stories to involve family issues, though.
