Hace un tiempo, el usuario Hyrotrioskjan subió una serie de imágenes de su famosa (y personalmente fascinante) serie de evolución especulativa, mostrando cinco kaijus famosos como lo son Biollante, Gamera, King Kong y Godzilla en la vida real, imágenes muy interesantes y un tanto trágica por la muerte de un ser que murió por la alteración radioactiva de su ambiente, es decir, Godzilla. El mismo mencionó que recibió cierto hate por parte del fandom por su representación de Godzilla (además de decir que no le gustan las películas se kaijus), la cual a decir verdad no me parece mala e incluso comenté que lo tomaría de inspiración para mi versión de Godzilla; esto ocurre muy seguido, que alguien sobrevalora o se enfada por versiones del rey de los monstruos, ya sea enfrentándolo a seres que ni al caso como Cthulhu o rechazando todo diseño que no luzca como la versión Heisei (irónicamente también la más sobrevalorada), y siento que, si bien no me parece malo defender ciertas versiones que ""traicionen"" la esencia del personaje, el trasfondo y el objetivo de la imagen de Hyrotrioskjan está bastante acercado a la concepción original de la película del 54, solo que visto de una perspectiva menos fantasiosa.
Sin embargo, por mucho que me guste que gente que incluso le desagrade o no le guste el concepto de Godzilla pueda opinar y presentar sus versiones del mismo, siento que la imagen que tienen todos ee en parte... mal entendida. Esto es típico que suceda, especialmente con un concepto tan manipulado y con un personaje sobre explotado como lo es Godzilla, pero solo falta con poner en Google: "Godzilla fanart realistic" para que te aparezcan miles de imágenes de Godzilla como un dinosaurio en postura encorvada o idéntica a la de un terópodo, con la cola suspendida o con cabeza de Tyranosaurus.
Hay que aclarar algo: Godzilla SI fue basado en dinosaurios al momento de su creación, concretamente en las antiguas representaciones de Iguanodon, T-Rex y Stegosaurus, incluso en futuras representaciones del personaje se lo muestra como un descendiente de dinosaurios como en la era Heisei, o de plano siendo un animal del pérmico como en el Monsterverse, dado que las características de estas criaturas siguen presentes en el personaje, pero yo me pregunto... Si tan realistas buscan que sea ¿Por qué ponerlo así cuando el personaje claramente no esta hecho para ser un dinosaurio fiel? Me explico:

Godzilla, como tal, es un híbrido de conceptos, no solo de dinosaurios si no de mitología al integrar orejas y colmillos como dragón oriental, de fantasía al ponerlo como la encarnación de las almas de la segunda guerra mundial como en GMK o al ser un protector de la tierra como los cómics de IDW, incluso ciencia ficción fantasiosa e irreal como el hecho de que mute con radiación o que sea un arma biológica alienígena (como el guión original de la película cancelada del 95). Así como Sherlock Holmes o James Bond, Godzilla se volvió un tipo de arquetipo, un molde sobre el cual jugar y trabajar para volverlo la representación de la contaminación atómica, un protector que pelea contra monstruos como en la era Showa o tan solo una criatura protectora como el Monsterverse, y se me hace muy desaprovechado esto, en especial por lo de antes, que la gente tenga el esquema de dinosaurio en la mente.
