Lt. Commander Leslie Gillis (2040-2102) of the URSS Alabama, accidentally revives from his biostasis cell, 3 months into a 230 year voyage (2070), to the Coyote star system.

Now, unable to return to hibernation, Lt. Gillis realizes the fact he will never see Coyote, and must spend the rest of his life alone on the ship...
