Something tells me Yusaku may have been a fan of puns before the... well, people that are caught up with VRAINS know what happened.

I'd love to know what Yusaku's old deck was like, in episode one it was stated that he already had a deck before meeting AI, but it would have been too weak to fight the Knight of Hanoi, so AI modified it. All that was shown was Link Slayer (oddly a cyverse monster, which adds to my confusion as to how he had a cyverse card before he even knew of AI's existence).

I think the only modifications Ai gave it was giving him more powerful Link monsters thanks to Storm Access......... so most of the Deck we see Yusaku use is his old deck, which makes since as he showed no surprise to seeing any card he played in the duel with the Knight, as those were all there before.
Though I still don't have an answer for where he get's the "Code Talker" support from.

I just don't understand how he had cyverse monsters before meeting AI/ learning of the cyverse's existence.

Well, they existed before hand... Hanoi just tried to destroy them all.
Yusaku probably just grabbed them before they got to be destroyed, and was able to hide them from those destroying the cards.

That makes sense, hopefully it will be explained later in the season/series.

When it comes to the support cards, I don't think we'll be getting an explanation... we never really do.

True, but I tend to blame the people at the highest level first.

Yeah, I don't like blaming the people at the front desk so-to-speak, unless absolutely necessary. They get paid pennies compared to the higher ups anyway.

Very true......... that and the ones at the front desk are often the messengers and not really the cause of the problem.
