Yes, MST doesn't negate however it can be used to negate continuous spell and traps, I'm not sure which one or if is both.
If MST is chained to the activation of a continuous spell/trap and destroy it before that card resolves, the spell/trap will be negated, this happens because a continuous spell/trap can resolve if the card is still on the field, so since the card was destroyed by MST it will fail to resolve. One of the many confusing rules of YGO.
