A Vamp is, in layman's terms, a female villain who seduces. Mostly a Hollywood term, a vamp - unlike the similar femme fatale - only does it for wicked purposes and is incapable of actual love.
For example, Black Widow was clearly not one - even when still a villain - but Poison Ivy is.
Likely the "queen" of Vamps was Theda Bara, who was "notorious" for playing this type of villain in the silent film era.
