S1 Niagara 6023 being put through her paces in 1946 after being made by the Alco Locomotive Works. The locomotive's crew are seen posing for the pic. Before long 6023 would pass her tests and enter traffic with the others alongside being fitted with smoke deflector plates. All this testing was rather meaningless, as she was withdrawn in 1956, only 10 years later and still with plenty of life left.
