It is a full 360 degree shot, then he used polar coordinates in an image editing application. Nice pics btw

its a photoshop effect, just google "Little planet" and you will find many ways to do it,
its basically a panorama thats twisted around

hehehe sure, well its a a way of editing panorama photos, called Little planets,
its basically stitching a panorama in a circular way making a nice "Plannet shape"
just google "little planet" and you will find lots of tutorials
