Even then you're still waaaay off the mark. There are roughly 100 red wolves in the wild at the moment, making them one of the rarest canids in the world.
Also: if you're going to continue crusading for wolves, I would suggest you take the time to educate yourself about them. Ignorant sympathy is the last thing the wolf needs.

You really don't know what you're talking about, do you? At present the gray wolf population in the United States is roughly 6200, not counting Alaska, which would add another 7000-11000. That's also not counting the 60 individual population of Mexican Wolves down in Arizona.
As for the red wolves, the population is still quite small, around 100 individuals.
I suggest you go back and recheck your sources.
