Note: Koibito is japanese for "Sweetheart". And for those who don't know, "Baka Moyashi" means "Idiot Beansprout" in japanese. Kanda refers to Allen as this a lot in the series.

*EDIT* The way this pic was drawn, it may look odd. Kyonshi is actually facing Chihiro but I drew it in a different way because I thought it would be cool. Chi is NOT behind him though. She's technally looking him in the face. Sorry for any confusion *END EDIT*

Typed up part of the storyline yesterday, then finishing typing and did the drawing for this today. W00t. So I wonder if anyone can guess whats gonna happen. Its probably obvious. The next part I'll have up will be a total tear-jerker Thanks for any favs and comments guys~

Also, As I said before, I got a new monitor for my PC and the color is different from what it used to be. So I apologize if the hair color is wrong or different for my oc's. I have tried changing the brightness/contrast of the monitor but it doesn't do much. Srry.

Storyline:

"...So how long did Komui said this trip would take, Allen?"

"A few days, Lavi."

"UGH! But its already been a day and a half since we set out!" Lavi groaned, in annoyance, yanking at his hair hard. The silver haired exorcist sitting beside him shot a glare at his friend,

"Stop complaining, Lavi. The trip is worth it. Its all for Chihiro and Kyonshi." Chihiro was someone Lavi couldn't argue against so he decided to stop complaining. Allen was right though. This trip was all for them and it would be worth it. Especially if by some chance, Chihiro or her father did turn out to be an exorcist. Another person joining the order would certainly help them out in their current situation with the Earl and the Clan of Noah. However, Lavi was also right about one thing. It had been a day and half since the exorcists had set off on their mission. Now they were in a carriage, riding on a dirt road to the Northern branch of the Black order.

Smiling, the eye patch looked over at Chi to see her leaning on her father's shoulders, trying not to fall asleep. 'Man, she's so cute.' Lavi chuckled to himself, happily. His friends around him shook their heads and looked away in disgust.

As the carriage proceeded onward, Allen began to get a bad feeling in the pit of his stomach. Ever since they had all set out; nothing had gone wrong. Furthermore, no akuma had not even once shown up. Everything was going so smooth...maybe even...TOO smooth. Looking out the window of the carriage, Allen looked up at the sky in suspicion,

'I know I sensed akuma when we left the waterways of the Black order...so where...?' Scanning the sky carefully with his left eye, Allen looked for any movement or shadow that could be an akuma. He saw nothing however. It was a clear, sunny day and everything seemed at peace. Sitting back in his seat, Allen scratched his head in confusion, 'Did I maybe imagine sensing them?' The boy sighed.

"Something wrong, Allen?"

"WHA?" Allen jumped in his seat at hearing a voice come from out of no where. A small chuckle came from Chi who sat across from Allen in the carriage. Allen laughed nervously, "O-Oh Chihiro...you scared me for a sec."

"Sorry. You just kept looking at the sky, so I wondered..." Lenalee looked to Chi and then to Allen with a curious look. Lenalee leaned up close to Allen as to whisper in his ear,

"Did you sense an akuma?" Not sure of what he sensed earlier was real or not, Allen shook his head no and proceeded back to resting in the carriage.

"Protect them! If anything happens to them...!"

Allen bit his lip hard,

"This time, I'll keep my promise! I'll protect Kyonshi!"

One again, Allen felt sick to his stomach. Clenching his belly hard, the fifteen year old looked to the side, 'Can I...really keep my promise...?' Shaking away his thoughts, Allen sat back and shut his eyes, falling into a deep sleep...

~Above the carriage, outside~

"Hey, I see the carriage with the exorcists! Lets attack!"

"No, Akuma # 2. We must wait until the time is right. Lets wait for them to get farther out into the country where no houses or buildings are. That way, when we attack, those two humans we're assigned to kill will be an easy target." Akuma # 3 looked to his buddies and smirked sinisterly. Loving the plan their comrade had just come up with, the other two akuma laughed insanely,

"Brilliant! Great thinking, # 3!"

"Bwaha, yes! Then we'll kill 'em!" The other two akuma continued on with their laughing fest as the 3rd akuma looked down. Akuma # 3 smirked again, his eyes widening in excitement,

"Indeed..." He grinned, staring at the carriage as it rode on...

~Back with Allen and the others~

"...AH!" Suddenly awaking from his nap, Allen shot up and fell forward, causing him to nearly fall out of his seat. His fellow exorcists looked to their friend in concern,

Lenalee gently touched Allen's shoulder, "Allen, are you okay? Whats-"

"AKUMA." The others froze. Lenalee looked to Chi and then back to Allen,

"Akuma? Where-"

Allen paused for a minute then shook his head, "No...wait...it's okay, never mind. I just...for a second there, I thought I heard laughing..." Allen looked to each of his friends, apologetically. They each nodded and went back to their carriage ride. However, Kanda, who sat beside Krory and Chihiro, grunted in anger,

"Baka Moyashi. The kid can't even work his left eye correctly, now. Useless little..." The swordsman snorted, looking to the side. Allen heard what Kanda had said, however, he said nothing and pretended as if he hadn't. Allen clenched his shirt and all of a sudden, the boy could feel his body begin to tremble all over.

"Protect them!"

Allen shook his head slowly and clenched his knees as he trembled more,

"Thank you Allen. With you around..."

"Oh crap...GUYS, DUCK!" Lavi shouted suddenly, jumping out of the carriage and onto the roof, activating his hammer. The others looked to Lavi as if he were crazy when out of no where came a fire ball speeding at the carriage. They screamed as Lavi swung his hammer, blasting the fireball in the other direction before it could hit them. Allen looked up in extreme fear,

"...we'll be fine."

The moyashi boy felt a large lump form in his throat as he sat backwards and stared wide-eyed into space. Lenalee and the others followed after Lavi out and in front of the carriage, activating their weapons. In the distance before them, they could see three figures standing there, evilly chuckling. Low and behold, it was the three akuma from earlier who had been spying on them.

"HELLO EXORCISTS! It's SOOOO good to see you!" the first laughed manically. The second akuma took a step forward,

"We've been watching you!"

Lenalee's purple eyes widened, "Watching us?" Knowing they would need help to fight the demons, Lenalee turned back, "Allen-" Looking into the carriage, the girl gasped. Allen was still sitting in the carriage, motionless. Chihiro shook him as hard as she could but Allen remained frozen in terror. He just stared ahead with wide, grey eyes while trembling uncontrollably. Lenalee felt tears come to her eyes, "Allen, what-"

"We're here to take the innocence! Hand it over and we promise you'll die fast and painless!" The first two akuma shouted.

Lavi glared at the akuma and held up his hammer, "You aren't getting our innocence! And there's no way you'll break our weapons to even get to-"

"FOOLS, WE AREN'T HERE FOR YOUR INNOCENCE!"

"...!" Allen remembered what Komui had said before they left the order,

"I believe the Earl is also under the belief that those two are accomadaters; therefore, he will send akuma after them."

"Wait, no one else has innocence here but us!" Lavi snorted, putting a hand on his hip. The akuma shook their heads,

"This is another person who has innocence! We can sense it!" The exorcists looked to each other. Krory walked over to Lavi and whispered,

"Have either Chi or her father bonded with innocence, already and we just don't know it?"

The hammer exorcist shook his head, "Hell if I know, but I doubt it." Lavi swallowed big before running towards the akuma, "I don't know what you guys are talking about but that won't stop me from kicking your ass! FIRE CIRCLE-" The exorcists outside the carriage proceeded on to fight the akuma. Allen, however, was still frozen solid inside the carriage,

"Allen! Allen, snap out of it! Whats wrong with you?" Chihiro screamed as she continued to shake her friend as hard as she possibly could. Allen didn't respond. Chihiro looked out at the akuma and then to her father in fear, "Father, we have to find some place safe. If the akuma can get through those exorcists then they could attack the carriage and-" Placing a hand on his daughter's head, Kyonshi smiled,

"We cannot run, Chihiro." His bangs covering his eyes, Kyonshi shook his head and looked at the akuma. Chihiro felt her heard beat suddenly quicken,

"F-Father, if we don't hurry, you could be ki-"

"AH DAMN, THERE'S A BUNCH OF LEVEL 1 AKUMA HEADING THIS WAY!" Krory shouted from the fight. At hearing Krory, Chi let out another scream and looked to Allen. The blonde grabbed his shoulders and cried out to her friend in terror,

"ALLEN, PLEASE! YOU HAVE TO GET OUT AND FIGHT!" No response. Tears welled up in Chihiro's eyes, "Allen!"

"..."

The girl clenched her teeth together, "Snap out of it...YOU'RE AN EXORCIST!" Bringing up a hand, Chi slapped Allen across the face as hard as she could. The boy with silver hair widened his eyes as he touched his cheek. Looking up, Allen stared at Chi and then turned to the akuma,

"...A-AH CRAP!" Allen shouted, suddenly snapping out of his trance. The exorcist jumped out of the carriage and quickly activated his anti-akuma weapon and ran towards the battle. Now, only one thing ran through his mind now: the akuma. What Chihiro had said had awoken him from his trance,

"YOU'RE AN EXORCIST!"

Yes. He was. Fighting was most important. Allen no longer cared about anything else. Not the past or the promises he made. Right now, the akuma was his prerogative.

"CROSS GRAVE!" Allen yelled, jumping into the air and slashing down his claw, destroyed a few of the millions of level 1 akuma that had just shown up.

"Darn it! Those exorcists are taking out those level 1's pretty fast! We won't be able to distract them for long so lets hurry and kill those humans in the carriage!" Akuma # 1 shouted. The other two nodded and rushed towards the carriage at fast pace,

~With Chi and her father~

"Father, the exorcists are protecting us the best they can right now. So lets take this chance and get to a safer place where the akuma won't find us...!" Chi pleaded, tears running down her face, "Please, father! I don't want to lose you!" Again, Kyonshi shook his head, his bangs still covering his eyes. Starting to panic, Chihiro grabbed her father by his arm and screamed as loud as she could, "FATHER, PLEASEEEEE!"

Kyonshi sighed and looked to his daughter, "Chihiro...I want you to be a good girl, alright?"

The girl's crimison eyes widened in confusion, "Father...?" Now, her heart felt as if it might stop. Kyonshi kissed Chi on the forehead and jumped out of the carriage. Chihiro placed a hand over her chest in concern, "Father, are you gonna go to a safe place like I said?"

"...Oh Chihiro...Daddy is so sorry." Kyonshi looked back and smiled again...only, this smile was different from all the others. This smile, was a smile Chihiro had never seen her father have before. And just looking at it made Chihiro feel as if her heart may shatter at any moment. Kyonshi turned so that his back was facing her now, "Chihiro."

She sat up straight, "Y-Yes?"

"...I love you, Koibito. Don't ever forget that." Before Chi could said anything, Kyonshi suddenly started off running towards where Allen and the others were fighting the akuma. Frozen, Chi breathed in and out slowly, taking in what her father had just said to her,

'...love...don't ever...forget...' And then, like a brick, it hit her. Chihiro shot out of the carriage and cried out, "FATHER! NO, DON'T GO! DON'T LEAVE ME! FATHERRRRRR!" At hearing Chi's cry, Allen looked from the fight and noticed Kyonshi running towards them,

"KYONSHI? WHAT THE?!"

Lavi looked to Allen and then to where he was looking. He jawdropped, "WHAT THE HELL IS KYONSHI DOING?! HE COULD GET SHOT-"

"STUPID EXORCISTS."

"?!" Allen deactivated his claw and turned fully around. All the exorcists gasped,

"OH DAMN!" Krory shouted in a panic. Stopping in his tracks, Kyonshi looked back and froze,

"Fools you all be! You left this girl WIDE OPEN!" The three akuma from earlier had made it over to the carriage now...and whats worst, is the first one now held Chihiro by her neck.

Allen stepped forward in anger, reactivated his weapon, and pointed his claw at the akuma, "LET. HER. GO."

The akuma laughed, "NOT A CHANCE! Not until we get the innocence!" Lavi grunted in annoyance,

"We already told you! The only innocence we have is our weapons-"

"Very well. If you want it so bad, you may have it." Lavi and the others looked over to Kyonshi in surprise who seemed to be rummaging through his jacket for something. Allen walked over to his friend and frowned,

"Kyonshi...?" The blonde man then pulled his hand out of his jacket and held up a bright, glowing circly object,

"INNOCENCE!" The akuma and the exorcists cried out.

"KYONSHI, WHERE DID YOU GET THAT?" Allen asked, looking from the innocence to his friend and back to the innocence again. The man smiled innocently,

"In truth, I stole it from the order right before we left on the trip "

Allen's jaw dropped, "Stole it? Why-"

"GRAB THE INNOCENCE! GET IT! WE CAN'T LET IT BOND WITH HIM- HE MUST BE THE USER! THAT MUST BE WHY HE HAS IT!" Akuma #2 cheered, getting his weapons ready. Akuma #3 glared devilishly at Kyonshi,

"We'll be taking that from you, sir. Now hand it over." Kyonshi laughed, clenching the innocence in a fist as he took a step towards the akuma,

"You want this?" The akuma nodded in excitement, licking their lips in desire. Akuma #1 threw Chi to the ground and flew a little closed towards Kyonshi. Kyonshi dangled the innocence at the akuma in a tease and smiled darkly,

"...Then come and get it."

"?!" Allen deactivated his claw and turned fully around. All the exorcists gasped,

"OH DAMN!" Krory shouted in a panic. Stopping in his tracks, Kyonshi looked back and froze,

"Fools you all be! You left this girl WIDE OPEN!" The three akuma from earlier had made it over to the carriage now...and whats worst, is the first one now held Chihiro by her neck.

Allen stepped forward in anger, reactivated his weapon, and pointed his claw at the akuma, "LET. HER. GO."

The akuma laughed, "NOT A CHANCE! Not until we get the innocence!" Lavi grunted in annoyance,

"We already told you! The only innocence we have is our weapons-"

"Very well. If you want it so bad, you may have it." Lavi and the others looked over to Kyonshi in surprise who seemed to be rummaging through his jacket for something. Allen walked over to his friend and frowned,

"Kyonshi...?" The blonde man then pulled his hand out of his jacket and held up a bright, glowing circly object,

"INNOCENCE!" The akuma and the exorcists cried out.

"KYONSHI, WHERE DID YOU GET THAT?" Allen asked, looking from the innocence to his friend and back to the innocence again. The man smiled innocently,

"In truth, I stole it from the order right before we left on the trip "

Allen's jaw dropped, "Stole it? Why-"

"GRAB THE INNOCENCE! GET IT! WE CAN'T LET IT BOND WITH HIM- HE MUST BE THE USER! THAT MUST BE WHY HE HAS IT!" Akuma #2 cheered, getting his weapons ready. Akuma #3 glared devilishly at Kyonshi,

"We'll be taking that from you, sir. Now hand it over." Kyonshi laughed, clenching the innocence in a fist as he took a step towards the akuma,

"You want this?" The akuma nodded in excitement, licking their lips in desire. Akuma #1 threw Chi to the ground and flew a little closed towards Kyonshi. Kyonshi dangled the innocence at the akuma in a tease and smiled darkly,

"...Then come and get it."
