Description
I can’t tell you how long I’ve wanted to make this picture!I got the inspiration while I was exploring the weird part of YouTube (As usual you never know you’re there until you’re really THERE. I think I was looking at fishtank videos…) when I came across a video about homosexuality in different animals, intrigued I watched it. When I finished I was amazed at how many animals displayed all sorts of sexual preferences and how I had never seen any of this before! All kinds of animals; from dolphins to antelopes, from lions to fruit flies! When I was finished, I sat there thinking, why haven’t I really seen this until now? Why haven’t I seen any sort of art to this degree? Maybe it’s a universally taboo sort of thing that everyone has sworn not to make public, but I didn’t get the memo?? :/ And then inspiration struck: Did some dinosaurs display homosexual behavior?
In my opinion, it would be insane if some didn’t! When you look at how many species show homosexuality in the present day, and then you realize that 99% of all species to ever exist are now extinct, it makes complete sense that this wouldn’t be a new concept to the world! Who knows what kinds of animals could have been homosexual to a certain degree!
For this picture I chose the dinosaur Buitreraptor, and the sexual orientation of the Greylag Geese. I chose to match the two because the movie only seemed to show birds showing homosexuality that lived near water, the one they went into the most detail with was the Grey Lag Geese.
The way the grey lag geese shows homosexual behavior is that two males and one female form a mated trio. Out of the two males there is a more dominant individual, although both do mate with the female. All together they raise their chicks, working together to defend their young and their general territory. However, once mating season ends, the female goes her separate way, while the males stay together. While the female-male bond lasts just the mating season, the male partners can last many years.
I chose Buitreraptor because it, like the Greylag Geese, lived much of its life around water, and frankly I liked the idea of it
****NOTICE: No references used on the dinosaurs, made the sketch during school sooooo

Maybe some dinosaurs were like Giraffes and there were more male-male pairings than male-female.
Maybe that's why there are so few "gracile form" tyrannosaurus specimens (females) and only a small amount of short crested (female) Parasaurolophus

I like to have realism in my characters, and this just gave me an excuse to make a homosexual Balaur Bondoc! You are an amazing person for hypothesizing this.
