I saw The Corpse Bride on Monday and it was everything I expected it to be. Maybe I'm just biased due to my love of Tim Burton films, Danny Elfman scores, and Johnny Depp, but whatever. It wasn't as good as The Nightmare Before Christmas, but I didn't think it would be. Nightmare is my favorite movie and I don't think it will be replaced anytime soon.
Anyway, this is Victor. I had three reference pictures for this, one of which was a piece of fanart which came in handy for the hair. All the screenshots are so dark it's hard to see the little details. I had to remember that the picture on the front of the soundtrack (which is also the movie poster) is reversed... otherwise I'd have things like his buttons on the wrong side.
I think Victor looks like a Burton-ized version of Johnny Depp... kinda like a groomed Edward Scissorhands without the scissors. Either way, he's an adorable character, though he'd probably snap in two were he to be glomped. Muhaha. I like how this picture came out so make sure to leave a comment if you add it to your favorites. ^.^

Total agreement! This movie is good and all, but nothing can compare to Nightmare. Not to mention the music isnt even close, but it's still good.

I just saw this movie for the first time yesterday. it didn't meet my expections, but I still appreciated it for the Burton/Depp factor. :-p You did an excellent job with Victor here. Have you thought about doing Victoria or the Corpse Bride?

Victoria has a creepy stare that makes me want to avoid drawing her for the sake of my own sanity, but I did consider drawing Emily. That'd be one heck of a project though... there's so much detail that would have to go into it.

You drew his face superbly well, the shadows near his eyes are quite crucial to his design me thinks. I love his eyes. XD

Well, every director has their favorite actor/actress, and Tim's would most definately be Johnny Depp, so maybe Tim thought of Mr. Depp while creating the character.
