   “Son..? What are you doing all the way out here?”

“Mother…” Simba sniffs glancing at his elderly mother kindly. “I didn’t hear you approach. You shouldn’t be out here alone.”

“I am not alone, I am with my son.” The lioness gently purrs,Simba notices the pain in her eyes, after years of believing he was dead, she has found it hard to leave his side.

   “Your mate is worried about you. Why are you here? What's the matter?”

“I...i just….I won't make a good king.”

“Nonsense!”

“No! I feel lost mother. I don't know what I am doing...” The lion hunched his shoulders sighing, eyes glazed with a look of grief.

"I just wish I knew what father would do. Half the herds don’t believe I can be a king...I'll never be the king father was…I am not like him”
Sarabi chuckles and Simba frowns looking over as she takes a step towards her son.
“You are more like him than you think Simba. He was just like you at this age, so unsure and scared of becoming a king, his father was to step down and pass on the throne, but Mufasa was nervous and feared he would never be a good king like King Ahadi.”

“Really? Father was afraid…” Simba stopped himself then whispered. “I guess even Kings get scared huh…” Simba let out a small smile as he recalled the talk with his father all those years ago.
Sarabi pushed her head to her son’s comfortingly as tears welled in his eyes.
“You will make a fine king. You are your father's son, but you will find your own path as he found his.” She stands. “And you are not alone, he is there to guide you as I am.”

Simba smiles. “Thank you, mother…”

So i've had this idea in my head a while now. I've always wondered if Simba would really feel suited being a king, he's had basically no training and has been gone from the Pridelands for years. The Lion King game kinda touched on this idea and i wanted to draw about it. I'd love to think that Sarabi would be the best support for Simba at times like these
