I actually would like to see Rogue get some real good hits in. For one, it would show just how strong an opponent she is, and two, it wuld showcase Carol's incredible durability. Have Rouge punch and fly Carol through a coule buildings, knock her to the ground, and ground and pound her. Rouge hits so hard, that it causes the ground to crack and crumble under Carol, and with each hit, it seems as if Carol is sinking into the ground. Rogue doesn't let up until she gets exhausted. Rogue stops hitting Carol and starts breathing real hard, trying to catch her breath. Rogue's hands are aching, she can't keep hitting Carol that hard. Carol just shrugs it off. She rubs her jaw and smiles as she eyes Rogue.
"Not bad. I actually felt that last one."
Rogue can't believe Carol took so much punishment and just shrugged it off. Rogue goes to punch Carol again, but she easily catches the fist and squeezes. With incredible strength, Ms Marvel squeezes, and Rogue almost collapses in pain. With a KO punch, Carol sends Rogue flying hundreds of feet through the air, knocking her through 5 or 6 buildings.

A variation that I thought of that would be Carol punching Rogue's face through a brick wall and leaves her suspended there. Carol then walks around to the other side of the wall and punches Rogue back out of it.

Love it. Then have Rogue crash to the ground. Carol then walks over, grabs Rogue by the hair with one hand and with the other starts punching Rogue repeatedly in the face. Rogue's forhead is eventually split open. Rogue punches Carol in the stomach, but Carol doesn't even flinch. Carol then punches Rogue one last time, hitting her so hard, Rogue's face slams into the concrete with earth-shattering impact, causing the whole building to shake.Rouge's face is burried in a crater. Carol grabs Rogue by the hair again and pulls her face out of the rubble. A stunned Rogue moans. Blood is dripping down. Carol eventually brings her to her feet. Carol in a sheer display of dominance just picks up Rogue and lifts her up over her head like a rag doll and drops her back on Carol's shoulder in a torture rack and bends Rogue's body like a pretzel. Then when Carol is done, she tosses her off her back and Rogue crashes to the ground. Rogue does not get up.

Rogue is barely conscious, Ms. Marvel is about to deliver a final knockout blow and send Rogue crashing into those mountains in the distance.

Yeah, I'd pay to see a fight with Ms. Marvel dominating Rogue. Rogue throws a punch, Ms. Marvel catches it and knocks Rogue down with one hit, Carol picks her up and throws her to the ground. The fight ends when Ms. Marvel grabs her in a bearhug, lifts her up, and squeezes. Rogue flashes around violently, but gets weaker as a Carol starts squeezing harder and harder, crushing down on Rogue's body with incredible strength. Rogue squeals and passes out as she hears two of her ribs crack. Ms. Marvel's strength levels are always increasing.

I'd be perfectly fine with that scenario, though I don't mind Rogue getting in a few strikes (lucky) but yeah, Carol rolling her is awesome and definitely deserved.

Oh yeah, Rogue gets some, hits in. Rogue punches Carol's rock hard stomach, and Carol grunts only slightly. She answers in, which causes Rogue to double over. In the end, Rogue is a mess. Blood is dripping from Carol's gloves. Rogue is barely conscious. Carol lifts a Rogue up over her head and tosses her several miles.

Yeah, and that's how it should be. Rogue is a toothless hillbilly. Sure, she's got a tough girl attitude, but Carol is a seasoned veteran with experience in black ops missions with the CIA. Carol should mop the floor with her, easily.

I don't recall the rape angle, but it has the stink of a writer's retcon. Still I feel like we could discuss this all day, which I'd enjoy but I don't want to take the focus away from the artist's very nice picture. Just my personal preference being that Miss Marvel's best contribution to comics was evolving the Rogue character. And I'll take Karla over Carol any day.

For what it's worth, do a google for Rape of Ms. Marvel and you'll get the shameful mess but this happened right before Rogue's debut in Avengers Annual #10.
Sure, I'm totally down for what your personal preference is and I think it's a fantastic one. Rogue IS awesome and both her and Carol are better off for each other. I mean, can you imagine if they retconned THAT away? They'd both be way lame. I think Karla is really cool and an excellent addition to Carol and anyone else's rogues gallery.

Rogue absorbed her powers because she had no choice. Avengers were attacking their island with basically the intention of killing a teenaged girl. Rogue is so much more interesting that Ms. Marvel in my opinion. The only time Ms. Marvel was readable was when Moonstone was the main character lol.

lolz. The island thing...that was Legacy #227 or something? That was Karla/Moonstone/Ms. Marvel, so I find it interesting that you'd use *that* as your example. And Rogue already had Ares's powers at the time.
This picture of me and Dave's was in response to Legacy #269 where Carol came to talk and Rogue started swinging because she didn't want to hear the truth. I was mad because Rogue owes Carol, IMO.
I won't try to talk you out of thinking differently about Rogue. I love Rogue! Even if she did almost kill Carol when they first met, ambushing her after Carol's rape, stealing her powers, mind and memories and then throwing her off a bridge, hoping the fall would kill her (and failing, obviously). Rogue's come a long way since then and should be proud of her accomplishments.
Personally, I love Carol.

No, I meant the same issue you referenced. During the Avengers vs X-Men storyline, no? Where basically the Avenger's goal is to kill Hope before the phoenix force can inhabit her? I'd swing first as well. Not to mention the last time I remember the 2 meeting, Rogue was more or less depowered and Ms. Marvel broke her ribs. I don't see that Rogue owes her anything, they were on opposite sides of the law on their first encounter. My opinion is if you're a superhero or villain, you should be prepared to meet a unfortunate end any time you put on the spandex.

Carol and Rogue's latest meeting was Carol reaching out to Rouge in an attempt to see if cooler heads could prevail, and Rogue sucker-punched Carol. AvX has been a sludge of hot mess from the get-go though. However, since then, the two were hand-in-hand allies taking on psycho-Majick. I like them as a team and I hate when Rogue and Carol fight.
Breaking ribs IS nasty, but by that rationale, Carol will be 'even' when she ambushes Rogue in her home after she gets raped, steals her memories, takes her powers and kills her by tossing her off of a bridge. *then* they'll be even.
I agree with your sentiment about an unfortunate end, but Rogue's the one that was the villain who wants to be a hero. That sort of thing isn't given after you murder people. It's earned, which is what I like about Rogue. Her contrition and wanting to learn from her past mistakes.
Honestly, I would like the two to talk everything out and put it all behind them. Part of why I love Rogue is she's the former villain who did a truly horrible thing to Carol and not only felt sorry for what she did, it guided her to being a better hero. I also hate thinking of Carol as a victim during that encounter. She's come a long way since then too. They both have, and should be proud of their accomplishments.
