The patches of colour- the way you put this together- it's very impressive.
Silly question, out of curiosity, did you work on it upside down (i.e. face right side up) or, um, right way up (with his face upside down)?

Nice question ! I worked like it is right now. I remember I switched twice to correct mistakes. But I always do that even with not "up is down" picture.

I must say that your style is mindblowing! As a drawer i have to concede that his face is simply the biggest inspiration I've come across in recent years. Had a go at drawing him a few times and each and every time it feels like im capturing a completely different person. He has such an expressive face. Maybe you'd like to take a peek? Nearly Benedict but could be closer (in fact I get closer than that in the finished version [link] ) I had to make a lot of small modifications to catch him. Sometime only few pixels make it better.
About this speed, I'm actually suprised it looks like him (I feel this one is pretty accurate even after not seeing it after a long time.) I supposed drawing him up down is a good exercise. Have you ever read that we can use different part of our brain to draw ? I imagine it is possibly a clue.
By the way he is a tricky man ... can't say the opposite !
