Description
Even the strongest king will wither in time and turn to soil.A collaboration between and me again. This was purely done with acrylics on A3 heavy stock and a lot of fun to make. The approach took me longer than the painting itself as this is an image that builds up on light.
The original is a tad darker than the scan for sure.
Also, the original will be available at Mephit Mini Con. ^^

Epic as always. The frontal veiw really makes it look majestic, as a lion is sure to be even in death........ to bad in reality, male lions are lazy mother-fuckers.

I don't intend to be mean, but are those his feet at the bottom? My wee brain can't seem to figure out the folds. The figure looks foreshortened, but I couldn't tell if this was on purpose or just my eyes deceiving me.
Overall, I am LOVING the atmosphere. I think the extra darkness works well with this piece.

Ah okay. ^__^ I was also considering that it could be hip bones or something along those lines, but I couldn't wrap my mind around it. Even knees make him seem a little too short to me, but its obviously not a depiction of a human (so what do I know about the anatomy anyway)? C:
