Description
I've really been struggling to produce work that I'm really satisfied with lately so I've really been pushing myself to experiment and have fun with the process more, and I can actually say I'm quite proud of this piece.
This piece is inspired by Llanbeblig Church in Caernarfon. The older portions of the cemetery is no longer maintained and the graves are obscured by dense foliage, with only a couple of headstones sticking out.
There's also the beautiful design of the yew trees that are so iconic to graveyards, from what I can tell the trees seem to have been adopted by the church from older Celtic traditions and symbolise immortality of the soul. Some of the oldest trees in the UK are yew trees.
