Considering the surprise that came with that scene, pretty memorable. X) Also I'm great at remembering things that do not benefit my average life whatsoever.

So, Shioru is going to remove any drawbacks of being a “netherworlder” while leaving the perks? or is it to disable something that’s allowing her to be manipulated?

hahaha, well I guess you read the fanfic.
you remember that Diodora Astaroth placed a piece inside her to manipulate her, right?
Remember that she never went to the underworld, but Shirou took out the piece, I think it happened in Chapter 5.

sekiryuutei2 [2019-11-21 09:37:56 +0000 UTC]

Shouldn't using rule breaker kill her at this point? I mean it's the evil pieces which are keeping her alive, so if you break the magic of them wouldn't she die? And it's not like it's a constantly active spell, the evil pieces alter the nature of your very being, so would rule breaker even work? I'm assuming he's trying to turn her back to human but that wouldn't really work right?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Alex-kellar In reply to sekiryuutei2 [2019-11-21 13:12:15 +0000 UTC]

Rule breaker destroys all curse and contract, returning everything to before it. So yes, you are correct.
Although it is a spoiler, I will tell. they had to use a piece immediately on it to bring it back.

although I would like to add something that I think has not been used.
I think that after this, not only the evil pieces are removed, but the person returns to being a human, since rule breaker, returns everything, as it was before the ritual, they should be human again, right?

I'm not certain, since type moon and DxD's worlds are incompatible at the basis you can pretty much just make up whatever logic you want for it. Honestly I feel like Shirou shouldn't be able to project ANYTHING in the DxD world due to the mechanics of magecraft in type moon and beyond that I feel that claiming Shirou is more powerful in it because it's in the age of gods to be nonsense that wouldn't work even in the regular type moon setting because it's not the amount of mana or whatever in the air that makes mages from the age of gods, it's the fact they draw directly from the root which is something modern mages can't do period.

And being in a place where magecraft is somewhat 'common' would effectively make Shirou even WEAKER if we used the Type Moon rules and without the Thaumaturgical Foundation engraved into the world magecraft from any school used in Type Moon wouldn't work. But obviously that would make Shirou basically a regular human so fanfiction hand-waves it I guess.

I just wish people who write cross-overs that are meant to be taken at least somewhat seriously would look into the mechanics of the worlds there are mashing together instead of only using selective mechanics, like Gae Bolg is supposed to always stab the heart when thrust becoming a conceptual weapon without understanding HOW that miracle works in Type Moon and WHY it most likely WOULDN'T work in another universe without a whole lot of back ground explanations.

Sorry to rant, I love your art but I get heated about these things, especially when fanfiction writers take one character from one setting and put them into another while making them unjustifiably over-powered compared to how they should be.

Alex-kellar In reply to sekiryuutei2 [2019-11-21 16:39:41 +0000 UTC]

Well, the base of the fanfic crossover, is to create the logics and bases of different universes after all.

I don't agree so Shirou shouldn't be able to project anything. It's like saying that Zelretch couldn't use magic there, for the same reason. I see the DXD universe as a parallel world, and by linking that to the second true magic, it does the trick, so to speak.

Remember that Nasuverso's rules say, 'The more people know your spell, the weaker it will be.' The reason why Shirou would not be weaker is because of his reality marble, which cannot be replicated.

I think that, as long as the legend of the hero exists in the world where it was tracked, it will be fed by the power of its legend.
although I am not sure what would happen in worlds where they did not exist.

and do not worry. although if you look for that goal, I think you will find other characters that are in that street, haha.

in fact, compared to other series, there are not so many fate fanfic, to be able to place them in the line of 'unjustifiably over-powered compared to how they should be'

sekiryuutei2 In reply to Alex-kellar [2019-11-21 17:56:27 +0000 UTC]

Shirou's projections are constantly being crushed by, a weakened, seemingly in-active Gaia while In DxD is the age of gods is still going on Gaia should be at full steam constantly crushing any projection he makes. Beyond that even Shirou using something like that should set off the counter-force is DxD has one to simple obliterate him. Also magecraft and Magic are two different things in Type Moon, one relies on pre-existing rules and the other is able to break the rules.

I thought it was something more like the more people capable of using magecraft the weaker it should be, but I can't exactly remember the wording.

Magecraft, noble-phantasms, reality marbles and the like all work because of the laws and rules engraved into Gaia in the age of gods. Honestly Shirou fighting someone from the age of gods as a Magus is insanity, him fighting anyone on the level of a servant is insane. If I remember correctly even Archer is mentioned to only be able to achieve what he did in life by getting power from the counter-force.

I'm referring more to ideas like Shirou some how-some way having the power to fight against literal gods, in the supposed age of gods and some how projecting a weapon fit for slaying a god which isn't a sword and than performing a feat with that noble phantasm which isn't an innate part of said noble phantasm but rather a technique for said noble phantasm. Example Gae Bolg, honestly even if Shirou could project it for several times the amount it would cost him to project a sword of the same rank he couldn't have performed the heart attack as that's NOT a feature of the spear but of Cu Chulainn's legend.

Or Gilgamesh apparently being able to defeat Sirzechs easily in his true form which has been stated to being a literal energy being of pure destruction. I've seen a few of those floating around.

But I'll stop now and leave you in peace. Keep up the good work

Alex-kellar In reply to sekiryuutei2 [2019-11-21 18:18:30 +0000 UTC]

I think there is a misunderstanding. 'The age of the gods' I do not see Gaia as a steam engine crushing everything he considers supernatural. but the supernatural, in reality it blooms and you see creatures that should not exist everywhere.

To shorten, it's great that you can create your own theories about the Nasuverse, but not to apply to each story. for example:

about Shirou not being able to use the heart piercing attack. We are going to say that it is not the spear that possesses that ability, but the bearer. Do you remember that Shirou did with the stone sword of Heracles in the canon? I don't think I have to mention anything else there.

and about Gilgamesh defeating Sirzechs, I don't see it impossible. remember. After all, he was the one who ended the age of the gods.

And that would be all, I think the talk is long, haha.
Have a good rest of the day.

I like to point out that with so many works and expansions the "Fate verse" has, even those writers themself write plot holes and stuff that seem more like retcons. Just FGO alone is notorious for having them but the fans handwave those for the "rule of cool". (here is a very mild example: Emiya alter projecting B&K NP handguns lol... no explanation given... or like the creator for the design going like : "i want to draw a what if EMIYA went to jail?")

Compared to dxd, it "almost" makes dxd seem like consistent writing.
