Very nice, I have 8 ducks (muscovy) they are fun to watch. They are pretty good, not aggressive to us...they can be to each other though (the males). We've had a couple of Pekin ducks they were calm and easy going too easy for predators to spot at night....thats how we lost both of them.

I'm sorry to hear that ....unfortunately geese are aggressive unlike ducks. Especially when they have goslings. I was chased down the street by them, but when they don't have goslings they are nice and pretty calm

We talked about getting geese last year and we might at some point. I take care of all our ducks and the coop is full now. (I herd them in at night)and they have free roam during the day. I wonder if we could keep them together??

Well usually, they get along well, but I'm not sure if they do that because they were raised together since they were little or because it's in their nature.

If you do get them, you should keep an eye on them just in case .

I would definitely keep an eye on them...I do now. The boys get to fighting sometimes. And the girl's have their pecking order...luckily they have rounded beaks! Not like our chicken (hen's) though, they rip out the other bird feathers when letting them know who's boss, they have no qualms about letting the ducks know who's boss too...I try to keep them away from each other)I'm a little protective of my ducks! Thanks for all the info. P.S. do you raise them for eggs or meat or just to have?

Not a problem...glad I could help

Actually I'm not the one raising them...my grandma is...well was, because she only has hens right now (she is pretty old for too many animals). She used to raise them for meat since we weren't fans of geese eggs.

We are spoiled a only a few times a year though as our ducks are seasonal egg layers. I use our duck eggs for baking and they are 'perfect' for that:0. My husband likes them like chicken eggs. I've never tried a goose egg before I wonder if it's simalar to a duck egg. They're large and very thick yoked and the white is thicker than a chickens egg too, not as pliable but tastes very similar to chicken eggs.

We are just chicken eggs fans . It's true we haven't tried the other ones, but at least I don't plan to try them soon
