I was so confused when he showed up. I was thinking "What in the pokemon world?" Then again, this thing is not from the pokemon world, so...huh.

That was kinda the point when they were designed. They made the UB's look really weird on purpose to get this feeling that it shouldn't exist or that it isn't from Earth. Even the more terrifying PokΓ©mon you look at and think "yeah that's a PokΓ©mon" but when everyone saw the UB's everyone first thought "That's not a PokΓ©mon" Even Sogeleo and Lunala are UB's because they came from another dimension and you can sort of tell by their design.
