Oh yeah, it can get worse.  Theoretically, she can die from it (not that she'd ever want to test that out).
Allen tends to get the shakes a lot, mostly because she's impulsive and likes pulling practical jokes on people.  (dropping erasers on people's heads, tripping them up, unzipping book bags, moving stuff they're using around so that they can't find it in the last place they put it) among other dumb things.  (pain is not a good teacher for her)
It's okay, as long as she can use her staff.  But Lord Yang keeps that with him when she's not on a mission.

Haha!  I see the shadow messenger caught your eye.  They tend tend to keep watch over Allen, make sure that she's doing what she's supposed to be doing.  They are harmless....for the most part.  But they're in most of the pieces that I've done with Allen.

Thanks!  I'm glad you like it ^^

OMG I didn't know she was such a doggone
prankster. She really is like Loki. Setting people
up for trouble and getting into to things.
Wow, the more I learn about this character.
the more I like her. lol

Wow, that Lord Yang guy keeps her in check.
doesn't he?

Shadow messenger huh? Sounds interesting.
Lucky enough that they are harmless. Because
to be honest. at first, I thought that was Lord
Yang in the background. I guess something really
gets me about him. I am not sure what it is.
But Lord Yang really puts me on edge like something
is not right about him. Maybe its just because he is
a pretty mysterious character to me. But I am glad
that it is something harmless, rather it being somethng
that can harm them both.

And you're welcome! I loved it! I am glad you shared this
picture with me.

Oh yeah, she is.  Any opportunity that she has, she'll take.  (also given the option between a good and a bad choice, she's going to chose the latter 90% if the time.  She's .... special)

Yeah, he does; it's practically a full time job XD

Correction, they are dangerous, just Allen doesn't bother to worry.  That's too much emotional energy and implies she cares, which she doesn't.  But they are Lord Yang's eyes and ears.  Allen can also make use of some shadow magic, sometimes it's for something cool and practical, other times, it can get a bit scary.
Oh?  Puts you on edge?  hehe, cool.

^^

Yup, Allen is DEFINITELY a special one.
That is for sure =__=;

OH! SO THEY ARE DANGEROUS!? Wow! they do
look rather intimidating. Oh yea, The eyes and
ears of the shady guy. So of coarse they would
be dangerous. Sheesh No wonder why Lord Yang
puts me on edge. That character gets shadier
and shadier the more I learn about him.

Oh, so she can use shadow magic too huh?
What does shadow magic do? and what kind of
side effects does Allen get from using that kind
of magic? Sorry for all the questions. I am just
interested in your story.

Oh yea, He surly puts me on edge.

AlexandeNight In reply to Loron-Lew [2018-07-20 07:50:37 +0000 UTC]

Yes they are dangerous.  Just Allen knows that she's to valuable alive to be killed by them.  She gets a bit cocky.

Yes, admittedly, she can use any magic form she wishes to.  Really unusual in her world, near unheard of really.  You can do shadow messengers, reconnaissance work, you can get them to fetch you small items, or use them to fight (like extending your reach, Allen likes to use it in combo with a knife), for holding down enemies, ensnaring, they can even suspend objects in air if need be.  Here's a pick with Allen using shadow magic  I've Got You  (it's old, but it may be easier to see what I mean)

Regardless of the type of magic she uses, the effects are the same.
No, I like the questions!  They really help me flesh out my stories and I appreciate that!  Thank you ^^

Loron-Lew In reply to AlexandeNight [2018-07-21 00:48:43 +0000 UTC]

Man, that is some luck that she is more valuable
to be alive. Is it because of the contract or does she
have some other importance for them?

I took a look at the picture. That is bad ass
how she uses the shadow magic. She can use a
knife as well? Dang, that girl is combat effective.
Wow Shadow magic sounds really resourceful
especially in tight situations. Even though Sapphire
has no magic, is she good at defending herself as well.
Or does Allen find herself saving Sapphire a lot of times?

I see, dang. If I was in Allen shoes. I'd try my best not
to use magic with side effects like that.

Well that is good to hear. When I get into something I tend
to ask a lot of questions. I've been enjoying reading The Mist.
Your comic/Manga Its so good, the characters seem so damn
real. Their personalities and just how they interact. I am loving
it so far. I'm on page eight so far.

AlexandeNight In reply to Loron-Lew [2018-07-21 07:10:59 +0000 UTC]

It's more of the fact that she's a jack of all trades with magic.  That versatility is incredibly rare and makes Allen a formidable opponent.  The contract makes her of use to Lord Yang (otherwise, she would have little to do with him).  Because she is useful, she is alive.

She is indeed skilled with a knife (she loves her blades) always wears one at her hip (it's under her skirt, so people don't notice) and one tucked into her bra.  Her fighting style is a kin to Aikido (because she's so small and slight, she prefers to avoid hand to hand combat if at all possible.  She prefers to rely on stealth, agility, speed and leverage)  In combat she prefers to maim or injure rather than kill, (not because she's a humanitarian, but because it instills fear and chaos in the moment and she can use that to get away)  If their movement is impaired then that's good enough.  Normally, her focus is in saving her own skin. (I never said she was a noble person, cuz she's not xD)
You're gonna have a bad day if you attack her.  Yes, Shadow magic is incredibly practical.  She's also has powerful sensory perception abilities, she has a crude ability to communicate with the wind or perceive the world round her through the ground.  The world to her is more than what your eyes and ears can bring you.  It's part of the reason she looses her shoes every chance she gets and hates to wear a lot of extra clothing layers.  she doesn't like the feeling of being closed off from the world around her.

Sapphire is rather ignorant of the fact that she is a person of interest, or that she's in any danger really.  She's studying to become a doctor.  It never crossed her mind that she needed to learn self defence.  Allen doesn't even know why she's watching her, however a lot of other people seem to be keeping their eyes on Sapphire; and that's reason enough to be wary.  That being said, Sapphire is pretty brave and can think on her toes.  She may not be able to fight, but that doesn't make her a true liability.

Allen, for the most part, conceals this special part of her away from Sapphire.  After all, she's nothing more than another assignment, and if she does this one right, she may earn her freedom.

Haha, well I'm glad.  I keep thinking that I'll get around to fixing up those pages at some point in the future... but... One thing at a time!  XD

The real question is why Allen is puking blood to begin with. 😨

The art itself is quite emotionally grasping indeed though. It's like seeing a friend who's sick and you can't do anything then to comfort them. Yet they still suffer.

Powerful image indeed.

exactly, and a lot of the photos online are amature shots and probably shouldn't of been taken at all really.  Kind of idiotic to be taking a picture of someone in distress when you should be helping them...

XD Aie!  Gore is the ultimate goal! haha
but for real, if you can pull of gore, you can probably do a lot

gdpr-25813752 In reply to AlexandeNight [2018-05-05 06:02:45 +0000 UTC]

Yeah... that's why looking up gore art is... something I rather avoid. Especially if it's real people harmed.
I looked up motorcycle incidents for ref for a friend, and lets just say I saw some really squeamish organs laid on the road. Tell me, would even a twisted mind fellow be ok seeing that irl?

Yep! Pull of gore you pull off anything.

Yeah.  That is understandable.
Well that means that you are a person with empathy, and that is a very valuable thing.
I've taken to examining medical textbooks and looking up some surgery tapes.  I know what blood looks like, I know what jagged cuts look like, I don't really know what organs look like, and it's been less cringy.

Come on, give yourself credit where credit is due mate!  There are many ways to be empathetic, but you've got a way of drawing people in, and that's cool!

Hehe, well I kind of always had a fascination with it I guess, never shied away from it when I was little.  Squeamishness is natural.  I've had a lot of those moments, but I just stay with it in that moment.  After all, it may be uncomfortable, but it doesn't have to be unbearable.

My dad would tell me all of these stories of getting injured.  One of them that kind of stuck with me was one day, he went downhill skiing.  He got caught up in a crash, someone had slammed him hard in the side.  He didn't think much of it, kept skiing, and when he got home, he realized that his side was soaked in blood.  His first thought was that someone must have gotten seriously hurt!  When he lifted up his shirt, some of his organs spilled out his side, a bit disconcerting, but it apparently didn't hurt all that much.  His big brother found him and went balling to grandpa (he was pretty freaked out XD).  They took him to the town doctor to get him patched up.
Now my Grandpa was the high school's history and science teacher.  So when the doc asked if Grandpa wanted to learn about organs, he took it!  (opportunistic much?)  Now, my dad tried to get a look and the doc said "Look away son, you don't want to see this!"  and proceed to poke around in his gut, showing my grandpa his organs!
That was only one of his stories like that xD

You're too sweet.
Well, you live life once so I want to make the best of it by at least giving good vibes and compassionate to alot of people. It's what I do best! Glad it seems like I am able to be here for people like you~ You're too awesome!

Well, you had a different experience... I'll admit my exposure to gore was mostly irl such. Not digestive frogs, we digested squids and since I don't mind animals like fishes since I always consider them food (sad but true, unless they're pet fish then I probably share feelings for it) and nothing much. But my earlier exposure to gore was mostly maggot filled dead rats, organs of raccoons across the road all spilled, bleh it was enough of a reason for my mom to tell me never to look at the streets.
The only time I softened up with gore was this little book about the body. Which showed a child with their organs open up (it was a pop up book), it was icky at first but the children in the story took it lightly as the one who showed their organs explained the purpose of it all (kidneys and lungs)

That is pretty disturbing to imagine organs spilling out, your grandpa must be one hardcore man tbh. Because never in my life do I wanna see organs spill out of anything. XP Especially if the thing is alive. But you sure got such intriguing family stories. More interesting than mine. You should tell me more, I love hearing such weird family stories.
And hey your grandpa took it well and began to educate much stuff about the human body, that's kinda optimistic. Still, such a weird yet pretty strong story~
No wonder why you take gore more like interesting then icky. XD

It's a good skill to have ^^
Haha, yeah, I see a lot of those to on my bike rides.  Poor little critters break in so many ways.
yeah, that gross feeling tends to pass if you just ride it out.  You don't have to like it but it can lead to a different appreciation for bodies.
He was a world war II vet, fought over in Japan at the end of the war.  least to say it was a brutal and gruesome war, also he was a history and science teacher, so yeah, he was pretty tough.  He also had a butcher's shop (something my dad hated because he'd always get sent to other farms to to the butchering of cattle).  But I just find it funny that my dad's general reaction was along the lines of "that's not good" XD
Haha, well there are a lot more stories where that came from xD
Pfft, I think it was more self interest on my Grandpa's part than anything else.  But my dad's attitude is "If it happens, you just have to deal with it" XD

Exactly. Alot of living things, even people, have different ways to break. (IMO the worst gore has to be when bodies are grimed into tiny bite size pieces. 'w'; )

Maybe, it all depends how dark the said gore scene is.
Woah, he's one tought pop pop. ;3
I gotta say your grandpa honestly sounds kinda cool, even if his taste are rather too tough for myself. (I ain't one to see people do butcher, less the animal is dead. XD)
OOh, you can tell me any story you got. I'd love to hear about it.

Well, yeah.  it has several stages, tremors (smaller, then grows more severe), if she continues to be belligerent or use magic then it progresses to seizures, then attacks her internal organs, tearing her apart from the inside as it were.  This stage, the fourth stage, is the most dangerous (obviously), normally, she would never consider going this far, normally, she'd be more concerned about her own neck than anyone else involved.

AlexandeNight In reply to Virmont89 [2018-02-23 03:19:16 +0000 UTC]

In part, but it's also building off an existing curse.  There was a time that she could use magic freely, without the aid of a staff.  But she ticked a lot of people in high places off.  She's really good at that.  They thought that she was too powerful, to strong.  So they bound her power to the staff.  Now, when she uses magic without the staff, she goes through the curse stages.  Lord Yang (literally lord light) built his contract into the existing curse.

Haha, think that's the great minds think alike thing again!
The problem is, that Allen is in the minority when it comes to this restriction.  She's more powerful than the average deity, but now she's got this curse to deal with.  And that's what made her so vulnerable.  She can use the full force of her powers without the staff (and she has done so) but it's at the risk of literally tearing herself apart from the inside out.
