She's beautiful. Β Women with such youthful looks always make me wonder if they could be a child or an adult lol

Welcome. I'm curious, is the person in this piece a child or an adult?

The artwork is ofΒ Sophie Turner, the actress who plays Sansa Stark in the Game of Thrones. I believe she is about 18.

I really find B&W easy to get the details and tone right as a first step, then I can enjoy experimenting with colour like this. Thanks

DBolandArt In reply to AlexanderLevett [2014-12-09 09:28:19 +0000 UTC]

I often do the same. Do you use a colour layer over the top or a multiply?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

AlexanderLevett In reply to DBolandArt [2014-12-09 13:50:18 +0000 UTC]

I often use 2 soft light layers over the work and stick to the mid tones to not throw out the lighting. The reason for the 2 layers is that I use a low opacity skin brush that lets me lay down layers of colour without overdoing it. Adding the second layer gives the density of colour but also allows for colour variation and hue experimentation.
