i duplicated the original photo, and then blurred the layer that was below. that's what gives the glow. and for the border itself i just used the gradient tool to make it fade from gold to red.

Heh, very nifty. It's like every time I see this photo there's something more I want to know. Mainly the "how's"; the technique and composition is (and this word may seem off, but) immaculate. I look again and again as I'm typing this, and I'm repeated stunned. There aren't many other ways for me to communicate how awesome of a photo this is, besides commenting and 'ing...

So once again, good job...I really enjoy the way you work on your photo's (from borders, to tonal correction, in what ever program you use), you really know how to bring them to their maximum potential...

p.s. one awesome example of the latter statement is your photo 'Lennon'. That piece looks extremely professional. I don't know if the aperture you chose naturally blurred the surroundings of his face, or if you did that in post procession, but the photo is just great.

thanks, i really appreciate your comment. i never thought anyone would be so passionate about this photo. maybe it's just because i've seen a lot of sunsets like this in Malaysia. i don't think i did anything to this photo except play with the contrast. with Lennon i didn't blur anything in photoshop. i didn't even think it was possible to do something like that and still have it look natural. i did however change the color a bit and sharpen it. thanks again
