I'm having the white bug too, also I'm seeing the corners of the superbar-previews are white as well.

I have one request, is it possible for you to make the theme compatible with a superbar on the right? I've noticed it is much nicer to work with a superbar on the right on a widescreen monitor.

Great work! I really love this theme, and it's the first one I applied on my Windows 7 in 3 months! So hopefully there will be a "soft7 on right" version

Yes I'm sorry for not making it compatible with the superbar on the right... I could but I've preferred released it today (for me it's yesterday ^^) without all the changes I've planned, I was too tired at 5 in the morning to add other things.

for now I have to fix the "32bits bugs"

thanks anyway I'm glad you like it !!!

Duncank In reply to AlexandrePh [2009-11-01 00:02:05 +0000 UTC]

Does that mean there will be a superbar on the right compatible version in the near future?

(I'm still using it though with the superbar on the right, because I like the rest also)

Yes, I will make it ! But I think I will add it with the 1.8 version that may be released next week...
There is still some other important things that I wish to change on Windows 7 theme ^^

Yes, I'm having the same white bug... I had it in the 1.5, not in the 1.6 and again in the 1.7 :\

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

AlexandrePh In reply to joaor10 [2009-10-31 15:53:56 +0000 UTC]

What I don't understand is that I'm using the same psd files, I've changed it in the 1.7 yes but it the same files... so I don't understand why it works before and why it didn't works now...

and always the same question in my head : "Why does it works on 64bits and not on 32bits ???"
It's a bug that only Microsoft is capable of

I'm on it !

But I must say that the fact that Photo$hop is not able to deel with png as much as GIMP (which is free) is also a huge surprise !!

Crap, I'm torn between this and Clearscreen Sharp. Some really nice themes are coming out now that Win7 is actually out the door.

White button bug in this release here too btw. Didn't happen in 1.6.

Bug has been fixed ^^
Don't be torn, just change theme when you get bored of one, or learn to make your own

Seems that I got some bugs as well, I marked them red [link]

Like some others I have the shellstyle bug, it wasn't in the previous version.

The new blueish bar looks strange on the edges - maybe the graphic isn't for those round buttons.

Otherwise, nice work

YES!! I'm not at home at the moment (currently visiting family out of town), but as SOON as I get home, I will be using this VS. Excellent work! I love the new min/max/close buttons, and noticed in your description that the blue stuff was changed to grey...I think that's PERFECT! I love watching how this visual style is progressing. Keep up the great work!

Be sure that you're "search bar" (that can be seen when you're searching for updates with Windows Update) works because I've just made the update a few minutes ago

This is definitely one of my favorites among Windows skins. My biggest and probably only gripe is the weird looking bevel at the bottom of the explorer bar. It looks weird and too dark for the theme. I'd suggest tightening it up or reducing the opacity a bit on it. Other than that, nice work.

AlexandrePh In reply to leodime [2009-11-01 00:29:29 +0000 UTC]

You're right, I was too busy to think about it but I will change it in the next release.
Like the progress bar which is too flashy for now ^^

Thank you for all this compliments

Looks awesome. I think with the few changes that were made, this theme has taken my number one spot. I think I said it before, but the shellstyle on this is second to none - both a minimal look and more pleasant on the eyes with the perfect accent and tone of gray - I have not seen a shell style that I like better on any windows platform. The min/max/close buttons look great. The start menu looks excellent. Awesome style friend.

AlexandrePh In reply to jmh1xx7 [2009-11-01 00:44:54 +0000 UTC]

wow ^^
thank you very much, it's truly appreciate !

All this supports and compliments makes me do my best, and be sure I wish to please everyone when I read all this.
It's not always easy to work on this theme and it requests a lot of time but I don't stop being motivated because of you and everyone else comments.

thanks

It's nice, but there's a bug with white spaces in the shellstyle where the buttons are located.

[link]

I'm on Windows 7 32-bit (release candidate)

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

AlexandrePh In reply to applebees [2009-10-31 04:45:36 +0000 UTC]

Well, this bug didn't appear with the previous release...
I will wait and see if others have the same problem, otherwise I don't know where it could come from, and it's always the same problem, I've got a 64bits RTM version and no others to check by myself...

sorry for this non-answer :s

applebees In reply to AlexandrePh [2009-10-31 14:20:33 +0000 UTC]

It's ok. The same thing happens on Clearscreen Sharp with 32bit users, though not with the shellstyle but the tray icons...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

AlexandrePh In reply to arcapadine [2009-10-31 18:44:01 +0000 UTC]

Yes and I totally don't understand why it only appears on 32bits and not on 64bits.....
But it's supposed to be fixed now as I've used GIMP instead of Photoshop to save my png.

Try it and tell me

gabraham In reply to AlexandrePh [2009-10-31 21:53:10 +0000 UTC]

The shellstyle is fixed.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

AlexandrePh In reply to gabraham [2009-11-01 00:21:18 +0000 UTC]

I've made the funny thing to saved EVERY modified files AGAIN with GIMP (instead of Photoshop) so now everything should be fixed...

And now I'm in the way to buy a new brain

I will upload it in a few minutes and add "UPDATED" directly in the name ^^

I've got just one question, What do you call the shellstyle ? I know that you speak about buttons on the explorer menu but why do you call it that way ? I've seen a file called shellstyle on the theme's folder but this png is not inside it...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

gabraham In reply to AlexandrePh [2009-11-02 20:38:09 +0000 UTC]

"Shellstyle" is what that similar element used to be called in Windows XP. I'm not sure what changed since XP to Vista and Win7.

I think the shellstyle is just the code for layout of that area, while the images it references are in the msstyle, but I could be wrong.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

AlexandrePh In reply to gabraham [2009-11-02 21:42:26 +0000 UTC]

Ok, I also have the problem of the correct names of the buttons because I'm french, although I don't know each names in french it's harder to know the english ones ^^, about programming and else it's even harder.

Yes the images are in the msstyles and after everything I've seen on theming I think you might be right that the code is in the shellstyle files.

arcapadine In reply to AlexandrePh [2009-10-31 18:47:08 +0000 UTC]
